realtime eQSL support

This may have already been asked but was wondering if there are any
plans to add realtime eQSL log entry submission capability to
ACLog. In other words, the ability to right click on a entry then
have the option to send it directly to eQSL.

Thanks!
Matt

Hi Matt,

Thanks for the suggestion. I have received a couple of requests for that feature but not too many. With all the other items on the agenda it may not make the next revision.

Hi Dan,

Thanks for your comments.? Actually I've been playing around with eQSL real time uploading and I have working code.? The advantage of course is that you only have to click on a contact and command button to upload it.? The disadvantage is that you can only post one at a time.? Another disadvantage is that I would have to distribute another support file, making the download of the installation files bigger.

As easy as it is to upload an ADIF file and after playing around with the "real time" option I'm not sure how much of a value add it really is.? I'm still debating whether to include it in the next version or not, though I probably will.

I've recently registered, got "AG'ed" and have loaded some ADIF files
to eQSL. I'm very impressed. It's not too hard to upload a file of
contacts from Scott's programs, but I would support and encourage
some sort of auto upload feature.

There are differences of opinion, but eQSL and LoTW seem to be
the "next big thing." I'm getting on the bandwagon now - to save time
later!

I think that's a good point. Uploading an ADIF file on eQSL is REALLY
easy. In fact, with LoTW coming online creating and uploading the
same ADIF file to eQSL and LoTW will probably be the easiest way
overall.

I assume, of course that LoTW will function as easily as eQSL. It
certainly isn't as easy to get qualified. Even with requesting a
duplicate license (couldn't find my original), scanning and e-mailing
it, and creating a custom QSL, eQSL seemed a whole lot easier than
LoTW.

With LoTW I had to download the software, request the certificate,
get my postcard password, go to the website, download the new
software, enter the password and wait for the certificate which will
be issued real soon now. I'm sure it will work FB, but it seems
complex from here.

BTW, tnx for the great software. I had some old logs in JR-EQF and
Win-EQF. They imported beautifully to ACLog! Clearly yours are well
thought out, mature programs.

I to would like to see eqsl support on a qso by qso basis by a check
box. I see eqsl being a highly effective DX chasing tool even if
LOTW achieves it's place in the sun. Being able to effortlessly
submit the eQSLs via your logging program is preferable to trying to
remember what subset of your primary logfile has already been
uploaded. When your log file gets large, this can become a headache.
I also see it as a way to give that extra insurance that the 15
minute rule in LOTW doesnt end up keeping you from achiving a hit on
LOTW QSL rules. Fifteen minute overlap rules may be fine for folks
that are 100% computer logs, but anyone that has operated with paper
logs knows that sometimes checking the clock for every contact is
next to impossible.

I plan to keep using my eqsl log as a means for giving a quick
acknowlegement. If someone wants my qsl for chasing a certificate or
something that does not recognize eqsl....the tools built in to that
system are great for requesting paper, a formal LOTW submission, or
email follow up or whatever it takes to complete the contact
verfication and records.

Keep up the good work Scott...and best of all keep making it simple.

Richard

I second the request for individual Eqsl box. I also send my Eqsl
for each contact when logged and it would make it very easy. Thanks
again Scott for your interest in users comments.
