ACLog upgrade to 7.0.11

Scott/all, I recently tried to upgrade to version 7.0.11 and during the process I get the message "drive or UNC is not available"? I have had this problem in past upgrades but have always been able to find a solution.? (Didn't document the fix)!? Also get the same response when trying to install a fresh download.? I guess I would like to know what file is the upgrade trying to install to?? The existing ACLog program is in Documents library.? ACLog 7.0.10 executes properly.
This is an older Windows 7 machine with SS drive.

Hi Jim,

Thanks for your e-mail.? I'm sorry that you have run into trouble.? The installer is attempting to install on your PCs path to the current user's program files folder.? If a previous version of AC Log doesn't exist, the installer will give you the option to choose an alternate location.

If I understand your e-mail, it sounds like AC Log never actually installs, and that the error is raised as the installation attempt begins.? If that is the case, the installer is either unable to access your drive due to security settings, or the installation is being attempted to an invalid location.

Since there have been no changes to the installer, no other problem reports of installations to invalid locations and the same installer code successfully installed previous versions of AC Log on your machine, it is unlikely the installer is at play.? If it is, make sure all previous versions of AC Log are uninstalled and then choose a valid location during the installation.

If the problem is permission settings, which is most likely, giving the installer and program the proper permissions in your protection program will remedy that.??

Jim, this time, please be sure to document the fix and send it along!? :)

Enjoy!

73, Scott
