¿ªÔÆÌåÓýJust to be clear, I¡¯m totally aware of what OneDrive is and what Microsoft does. And, in my case, I don¡¯t do POTA/SOTA, at least not yet. I¡¯ve used Google Drive, Mozy, and OneDrive for my cloud backups. While I respect your opinion (and have avoided all Microsoft products for a while in the past), it didn¡¯t answer my question. I¡¯ve had computers completely crash, along with hard drives and thumb drives that completely crashed. The only thing that saved my data was the fact that the ¡°Documents¡± folder was also uploaded to OneDrive. I could copy the log to my laptop and then work with it on the fly. But then I¡¯ll have to either export the log as an adif file and import it back in to my desktop, or copy the updated version to my desktop and overwrite the log that¡¯s there. It seems like a lot of extra work just to avoid Microsoft having access to my QSO¡¯s. So, I¡¯ll continue to do what I¡¯m trying to do. ? Have a great weekend and safe 4th. ? ? Also, you can go into OneDrive¡¯s settings and uncheck the ¡°Documents¡± folder if you really don¡¯t want it to be uploaded to the cloud. ? Not only is it so transparent that most folks don't realize their files are no longer on their local computers.? However, when one takes their laptop to do a demonstration in an area without access to the internet or as a POTA, SOTA or whatever OTA, they soon realize they have no log files, or sometimes other critical files on their laptops.? And if the Internet or your home network is down, you are without your files as well.? An easy way to test your setup is to disconnect the LAN cable and turn off WiFi and see what's now broken, then fix it.?? |
