This version was updated at the request of the 10-10 contest coordinator to show the number of members and non-members worked in the Cabrillo header.? As always, upgrades are free to registered users.? Please download the latest from ?before the next 10-10 contest!

WXSpots is a program that functions along the lines of DX Spotting, except instead of DX, it distributes real time actual weather observations to everyone logged on.? Those of you following along with?WXSpots' development?know that?for a while I was also sending automated NWS data from?my WXWarn program through WXSpots.? Many users preferred not to receive?the automated?data through WXSpots, as the actual observed reports?were getting buried.? Even so, there were also a number of folks who missed seeing the automated data in WXSpots.

We recently did a poll on the WXSpots users e-mail group.? While 2/3 of the folks on that group preferred WXSpots to only display actual observed reports, I?went ahead and came up with a way that will hopefully satisfy everyone.?

By default, WXSpots will function and appear as it always has (displaying only actual observed reports), but if you click Settings > Display Automated WXWarn Data, the Observations list will shorten and a separate list will appear for the automated data.? The automated data is not saved on the server, so you will have to wait for new NWS posts before you see activity there.

Both WXSpots and WXWarn are?free and can be downloaded from .? With Tropical Storm Fay approaching, now is a great time to install WXSpots!
