Sticky NOTICE - TO CONTEST SPONSORS, identify inactive/obsolete contests 2
As evidenced by yesterday's discussion of the SPAR Winter Field Day contest, there are contests in our Supported Contests List that are obsolete/inactive and should be de-listed from the Entry Window's >File >New Log in Database - contest choices. By coincidence, in recent weeks the N1MM DevTeam has been working with Bruce WA7BNM regarding a direct interface between his Contest Calendar website and N1MM. As part of that effort we have identified 51 contests that appear to be obsolete/inactive. In this week's Latest Update release we will begin trimming the menu selection list by removing contests that are tagged as obsolete/inactive. The list of those 51 proposed obsolete contests can be found in the website's >Downloads >Program Files >Experimental Versions gallery. If your contest is listed but is still an active contest, please contact the Dev Team to get your contest reinstated on the list. https://n1mmwp.hamdocs.com/mmfiles/categories/programexperimental/ NOTE: This list does not includes User Defined Contests (UDCs) and QSO Parties. We'll be looking at those in the future, also. -larry K8UT

Sticky N1MMLoggerPlus group guidelines
Welcome to the N1MMLoggerPlus user group at groups.io . The purpose of this group is to serve as the main support channel and discussion group for the N1MM Logger+ amateur radio contest logging program. N1MM Logger+ (aka N1MM+) is free contesting software that supports virtually all amateur radio contests. If a contest is not supported now, it can usually be added using the Logger's "user-defined contest" feature. N1MM+ is not a general-purpose logger; there is no support for chasing awards like DXCC and WAS, and there are no QSL management features. For those functions, you should be using a general logging program. You can export contest logs from N1MM+ in ADIF format and import them into almost any general logging program for tracking awards and generating QSLs. You need to join the group in order to post messages. The first posting from a new user must be approved by the moderators. Include your callsign in requests to join. Be proud of your callsign and put it in every post. Don't spam. This is not a list for posting items for sale, for announcing contests or events, for discussing amateur politics or for other off topic posts. It is also not the place for personal attacks. Repeated or egregious violations will result in loss of posting privileges. If the volume of email from the group is too much, you can set your delivery to digests or no email, by signing in to the groups.io web site and selecting "Your Groups > Manage My Subscriptions". You can also change your account preferences by clicking on your account name at the top right. You can change your email address or add an email alias address from the same place. You can view messages on the web site either in chronological order or by topic. Attachments are not conveyed in messages, but the web site also has a Files area to which files and screen shots may be uploaded. Try to make the subject line of your postings meaningful and descriptive. If you are starting a new topic, don't post it as a follow-up to a different thread; start a new thread with a title appropriate to the new topic. Titles such as "N1MM+" or "Bug report" do not make the grade; they give the reader inadequate indication of the contents, and they result in discussions on different topics being combined into a single thread. When reporting a problem with N1MM+, make sure that you can reproduce it using the current (latest) version of the program. We don't support any but the latest version. Please be specific when describing a problem. Be sure to indicate the mode (CW, SSB, RTTY, etc.), the method you use for interfacing (keying interface, sound card interface, etc.), the contest, the radio type and how it is connected to the computer, and information about your computer and its operating system. If there is an error message, quote its contents; just saying you got an error message without any other identifying information is not likely to get you a helpful response. If you are using port sharing software (LP-Bridge, VSPE, etc.), try to reproduce the problem without it first. We don't support port sharing software, but you are welcome to ask the group for advice about using it with N1MM+. Read all the posts in a topic before posting a response. If a post already says what you were going to say, don't clutter up the list with a "me too" post. When posting a response, it is a good idea to include just enough of the previous discussion to identify the context, and no more. There is no need to quote the entire past history of the thread in every response. After posting a problem, check back for responses. It is rude to post a problem then disappear. Likewise, please do not ask for off-list responses. If your post was important enough to ask 3,500 people to read it, you owe it to them to let them see the responses. If the responses solve your problem, let the group know how your problem was solved; that may help someone else down the road. Please do not think of this group as only a place for you to get answers to your problems, but also as a place where you can help others with their problems. If someone else has a problem hat you know how to fix, feel free to respond and provide the solution. The success of the group depends on more than just responses from the N1MM development team. However, when you do not know the answer, don't waste everybody's time with meaningless responses like "gee, that's a tough one. I have no idea." Above all, think before posting. You are going before 3,500 people with your posting. If you want help, demonstrate your willingness to do your part of the work. Be polite. 73, The N1MM Logger+ Development Team

Remapping of NumPad actions (NumPadMinus) 5
I am trying to get away from using the mouse during a contest more than I absolutely need to. I want to be able to zoom the focused Bandmap in/out by just pressing keys. From the docs I see that there are keys on a Number Pad (+ and -) that do just that. The problem is that neither of my keyboards have Number Pads, so I was looking at remapping them to the Pg Up and Pg Dn which seem to be free. The NumPadPlus command works fine when actioned by either PageUp or PageDown keys, but I cannot get the NumPadMinus command to work. What I have so far... !! Active Bandmap Zoom + PageUp NumPadPlus !! Active Bandmap Zoom - PageDown NumPadMinus Maybe it is not possible. 73 Stewart G3RXQ / G3Q

Contest 10
Hello, why aren't all the listed contests automatically added to the contest list during updates? Personally, every time I have to add a contest, I have to reread the instructions, and not so long ago, it didn't work; I had errors. Wouldn't it be easier to take all the contests on the WA7BNM website? It would be simpler. It's just an idea that would make N1MM, which has great potential, even more attractive. 73 -- F4HRG Gildas Membre F6KBG & F5KEQ & F6KOP

Mouse Hover Language - Score Reporting Config Tab 3
I checked past posts here and the ticketing system and didn't see anything, so I apologize if this has been discussed already here or elsewhere. Also, this is a very minor, nitpick item/question. From my understanding/reading (which may very well be incorrect), if one selects to use the "Include Real Time QSO data for Real Time Scoring" selection, then by default, the user would in fact be sending their band breakdown information, unless the user ALSO selects the option to "Exclude Band Breakdowns" in submitting/passing their score to the reporting servers. However, if one hovers over the "Include Real Time QSO data for Real Time Scoring" with their mouse, the following language is displayed: "Select when band breakdowns should not be sent to the scores site." Wouldn't the exclusion for sending band breakdowns be covered with the other "Exclude Band Breakdowns" selection item? Should it not say something to the effect of "This selection will include band breakdown information unless you opt to exclude it with the other selection on this tab" or something similar? Or, am I wrong to assume that the "Include Real Time QSO data for Real Time Scoring" sends band breakdown information by default? If it doesn't, why is there an independent "Exclude Band Breakdowns" selection option? Or, is the "Exclude Band Breakdowns" selection item meant to only be used in conjunction with the general "Report Real-Time Score to Server" selection option? Thanks in advance - Mike

All Telnet Spots Greyed Out 4
I've been using N1MM+ forever and am used to seeing different colored spots in the Telnet window, blue for stations using he mode the contest is in and grey for dupes or non-contest modes. in the recent WPX contest I noticed that all the spots were greyed out and they also stopped showing up on the bandmap until I re-checked the SH/DX button on top. I'm using the VE7CC AR cluster which has given me zero problems in the past. When I switched to different clusters, I had exactly the same behavior, all greyed out spots. I RTFM but could not find a solution to my problem. Is there a way to clear all the filters in the Telnet window in case I've accidentally clicked on something that i shouldn't have? I only want spots originating in NA. Thanks for the assistance, 73, Dave WB2PJH

Trouble shooting sound card function 7
Function keys will key radio but audio does not come through. Asus laptop running windows 11 connected to FTDX-10. All other functionality is fine. Radio is keyed for appropriate length of time given size of .wav file. Upon initial connection an error message along the lines of "the device has no valume property" is displayed. Is it right to assume that this is an issue with getting the sound card properly set up? Where does one start? Perhaps someone in this group has already solved this identical problem. Thx, Thom K1TKT

QSORDER for Multi Multi team 3
Hi there, need help on QSORDER to run it correctly in MM environment. It works well on one SO computer but what would be the best set up with 2 or 3 stations running a separate N1MM on each computer? Reading N1MM and QSORDER manuals online it is not clear for me in case of MM. Is there a way for QSORDER running on the main computer to receive audio feed from other USB CODECs from other computers or QSORDER must be ran on each computer separately and after the contest recordings are combined manually? Running latest N1MM and V2.13 recorder. Thanks in advance for any help!

Prefixes and suffixes for call voicing.
I have created a simple Windows PowerShell script (attached) that parses the SCP database and creates the list of prefixes and suffixes needed to voice any call in the database. F messages, letters, numbers, and / still need to be recorded. To run the script, make sure you have installed Windows PowerShell and then paste the following in the PS window: .\Process-HamCallSigns-URL.ps1 -InputFile "https://www.supercheckpartial.com/MASTER.SCP" -OutputFile "results.csv" -MinimizationReport "report.txt" -PrefixFrequencyFile "prefix_freq.txt" -SuffixFrequencyFile "suffix_freq.txt" -ShowDetails I am algorithms guy, not a developer, and leaned very heavily on AI to produce the code. I am sorry if it is not of best quality. This is not a piece of code that needs to run very frequently so scrappy is OK. Function keys to the speaker 5
Okay I have good headphones for my radio. And so when I'm alone in my shack it is pretty darn quiet. But when I have guests turn the speaker on so what's coming into the headphones also comes out my computer speaker. And so then when I transmit using my foot pedal and boom Mike, people can hear me talking. But I've been using my pre-programmed function keys in SSB mode. So when I transmit with the function key they have no idea what was transmitted. Is there any way to take what's going to the radio also and send it out the speaker when I press the function key?

Score Reporting and Multi/Networked Setup 3
After reading the manual, and searching the internet, I could not find a concrete answer for this. So, I have the following questions: When operating in a Multi-station operation with networked computers, where do you put the real-time score reporting configuration? Can it run on any single computer in the network? Does it need to run on the master? Wanted to get this right for operating in the coming QSO Parties this weekend. Thanks. Tim R. 73 de N0UI

Transmitting audio via Function keys 23
I've been using the MFJ Voice Keyer forever. I recently decided I want to switch to using the Function keys with N1MM+. I have successfully recorded, placed the recordings in the right folder, and they play back wonderfully, but they play back only and don't key the rig. What do I need to do to make the Function keys key up the rig and play it back over the air? Thanks -- Wilson Hines, aa5az Mt. Olive, NC

Spectrum click 4
Hello, I'm using AirspyHF+ for Spetrum via N1MMSDRServer. Sometimes, when I click on one of the signal on spectrum, control doesn't jump there, or jump on some other signal, up or below the signal I clicked! I can't imagine why is that happening. My OS is WIN11 - 24H2 version, N1MM is with last update.

I wonder what I have set incorrectly 3
I haven't noticed this problem until this WPX weekend. I use a Flex 8600 and I noticed a disconnect between the radio and n1mm. It seemed the program did not see the changing frequency as I moved the vfo knob. When I was in S&P the radio and program tracked using clicks in the bandmap. When I used my flex control knob, the freq would change on the radio but n1mm stayed on the last freq where someone was worked. If I switched bands the freq did not change to the new band. All this isn't a problem if you exclusively CQ obviously but if you are jumping around getting the freq correct would be a pain. Any ideas what I have set incorrectly? thanks Mike/AJ9C

FT710 issues with N1MM 25 #n1mm
I am having issues with the setup of my FT710 with N1MM. I have copied the settings recommended by others who have everything working but frustratingly it doesn't seem to work for me and I can't work out why. I have screenshotted the relevant settings below and also the issue I have when I try to transmit, I can also confirm that the radio is set to 38400 and 8 and 1 for relevant settings and it is also set as that in the port drivers on the pc. As a bit of background I did have CW working previously but was having issues with digital modes and others and as I had done a lot of tinkering with the settings I thought it would be easier to reset everything and do things by the book so there are no issues in future. Any help greatly appreciated. what happens when I try to transmit, no error box just ringed in red and no transmit happens:

N1MM Spectrum Display for Icom IC-7850 and 7851 4
Hello, I hope everyone is enjoying the CQ WPX SSB contest. I currently have N1MM Spectrum Display running for the IC-7610 with the FTDI method. We have just acquired an IC-7850 and 7851. I have Win4IcomSuite connected to share the serial port CAT control and to able to remotely test the radios. What is the current best method to display N1MM Spectrum Display for the 7850/51? I see they don't have the second dedicate USB 3.0 connector like the 7610 Thanks! Dave AA4VT
