I suspect you do not understand the meaning of the red dots.? They indicate where the program thinks the signal is.? With CW, it is very precise if you have sufficient resolution (50 hz or so).? With SSB, it can jump around a bit.?

I'll bet you have "snap to signal" turned on?? Do you?? DON'T turn it off. It is the best part of the spectrum display.?

You are supposed to use Shift up/down to jump from signal to signal (red dot to red dot). If you cannot bring yourself to do that, at least try it, especially on cw.

If you must pick the EXACT spot that you want the radio tuned to, do it in the waterfall.? It's easier there anyway, since you have historical data to aid your selection.

Contesting is a heads-down activity.? You shouldn't be using the mouse very much.
