Neptune 16 Centerboard specs

I know someone out there in Neptune land knows just how the centerboard is attached ( the pivot ), and also most important how and where .the lift cable attached to the centerboard.? I am doing a refit on this neptune and need to inspect and or repair the centerboard cable, It appears to be working fine but dont know whats the in the water condition.?

I don't know the "specs" for the centerboard, but I did repair my Neptune's centerboard.? Maybe these photos contain some useful information.? First, the condition before the repair...
The crack is at the line where the lower lead lamination starts.? It appears that some water got in and started some corrosion that forced the lead to delaminate.

I was unable to attach my 2nd photo to the previous message, so here's another try...

This thing's really heavy, so I made a dolly using some lumber scraps and caster wheels.? I wonder if others' keels have 3 holes in the pivot area.

I wrapped the keel with fiberglass and that gooey epoxy resin stuff.? Wow, what a mess!? Then I painted it with grey topcoat paint.? Why topcoat when it's to be used under water?? Because I don't plan to keep it in the water much.? This photo shows where the cable attaches.

There was very little remaining aluminum between the original attachment hole and the aft edge.? I was concerned it might corrode away or break, so I drilled a new hole further in.? As you can see if you squint at the photo, the attachment hole is just above the lamination edge.
Getting the keel out was a hassle.? I built a stand to hold the stern and used a car jack to lift the boat high enough to access the keel.? It took many iterations of setting blocks to hold the boat up and adding shims to the stack below the jack.? If I had to do it again, I'd probably try John's method of laying it on the side in the front yard.

Argh, I am about to do this same job. I am contemplating various strategies including making a whole new board, making some kid of slot cover in the hopes of making it go better in light winds, or just slapping some glass and epoxy on it and getting it in the water, thus ensuring future me has another onerous project right when I don't want it.?
