Hello Barry,

Contact Manager will continue to be compatible with AnyTone products as long as they support the DCF format, which is invariant regardless of format changes due to individual model updates.

The DCF idea originated with AnyTone and is a good one, however, everyone must remember that DCF files cannot track setting changes unique to specific radio models that were not originally defined in the DCF standard.

I recommend that to update digital contacts on any AnyTone model, use the updated CSV Export functionality provided in the Contact Manager DMR Online Database Searcher tool. This is a quick and very easy to accomplish this task without having to perform any codeplug edits.

Thank you for the heads up on Contact Manager V2.8. This is good news.

Today I was alerted on a different forum that Anytone released a new firmware update on 23 JAN 25 for the Anytone D168UV (firmware v1.05) and D878UV (v3.06 firmware). The posting also states that Anytone has revised the address location of the memories starting with v3.05 on the Anytone D878UV. The posting notes that the current version of RT Systems software is not compatible with D878UV v3.05 or later.

Lastly, I took a look at the Anytone website and it appears that AnyTone has also released a firmware update for the D878UV+ on the same date as well.

Consequently, any thoughts on whether Contact Manager v2.80 is compatible with the these new firmware versions?

We have just released NØGSG DMR Contact Manager version 2.80. N0GSG DMR Contact Manager is the "goto" software for working with codeplug data in many different makes of DMR radios, including Alinco, Tera, BTECH, Connect Systems, Tytera, AnyTone, and others. It allows you to freely edit information in all supported codeplugs, and also allows you to migrate data freely between any supported radio types using copy and paste commands for individual elements (such as contacts, channels, or zones), or Structural Import for seamlessly migrating complete codeplug structures.

The following enhancements are included in Version 2.80:

The program can now create Digital Contact CSVs for all AnyTone models. You can now update digital contacts in any AnyTone model by utilizing the DMR Online Database Searcher and clicking the "Export as CSV..." button. Contact Manager will nearly instantly compile your CSV according to the search parameters you've chosen, and in minutes you can import this CSV into the AnyTone CPS and directly port it to your radio.
You can now configure DMR Contact Manager as the default application for opening codeplugs with the Associate DMR Files command. Once you select this, your codeplug files will appear with distinctive icons to make it easier for your to find them - - and they will open for you simply by double-clicking them.
The software now fully supports the Alinco DJ-MD40T.
Support for all previous models, including the newer Connect Systems CS800D (Types I, II, and III), CS750 (Type I), TYT MD-2017 and MD-9600 dual band DMR radios, is included. If you've got one of these radios, use Contact Manager to build the perfect codeplug - - use Contact Manager's Structural Import feature to splice together information from your existing codeplug(s) and be on the air in minutes. Or, if you've got a new radio, migrate the codeplugs from legacy models to your new radio.
We fixed a minor bug in the DMR database import function so that missing fields in DMR user records are now properly handled. This bug intermittently caused problems during manipulation of Digital Contact lists.

The documentation for Contact Manager is updated and explains how to use the new features. (AnyTone, Alinco DJ-MD5 and BTECH DMR-6X2 users, please read the documentation carefully to understand how to create DCF files from the CPS for editing these codeplugs within Contact Manager.)

AnyTone AT-D168UV CPS Bug - DCF Issue

FYI - I've entered a ticket with AnyTone to correct the CPS (1.04) for this model. It writes defective DCF files and fails to read properly-formatted DCFs. Once this issue is corrected, Contact Manager will automatically support this new model.

Mark - Be sure to update to the latest AnyTone CPS. AnyTone struggled with getting DCF files right on earlier CPS versions. You will probably need to update your radio's firmware at the same time.

Anytone 868 DCF file

I'm using version 2.70 of the Contact Mananger to attempt to open a file I saved using version 1.59 of the Tera DMR CPS. When I attempt to open that file, Contact Manager gives me the error: "Failed to load Codeplug; the specified file is invalid."

Any assistance would be appreciated.

If you have an Alinco DJ-MD5FXT, you should be able to use Contact Manager to work with your codeplugs, but alas, there is a CPS bug. This model (and its CPS) come from Anytone. The CPS "About" command reports version "1.00" and copyright date of "2019-2020."

The problem is that the CPS appears broken when it comes to reading DCF files, which are used for Contact Manager to work with. The CPS writes perfectly good DCF files that Contact Manager can read with no problem.

However, the CPS can't read back DCF files, reporting "file error." It will even fail to read back files it just wrote (without being touched by Contact Manager).

If you own this model, you may want to reach out the vendor to give them a heads up. I've forwarded the information to the engineering team at Anytone. It looks like a great model and is very reasonably priced.

Try using N0GSG’s contact manager works with most CPS and certainly the 800’s. It’s free and makes programming SO much easier

For the repeaters you can’t hear make sure you do not have a PL tone set for receive then try. Many times I’ve seen people set TSQL and the repeater isn’t transmitting a tone

Hi Tom,

I started with the simple stuff. I programmed some local VHF and UHF repeaters. A couple worked fine, and a couple did not; I could see the signal reception icon, but no audio. I rebooted, reprogrammed, double checked all the frequencies, offsets, PL tones etc. and still had the same result. I programmed in the local NWS weather station (162.55) and was abel to receive it. Rebooted the PC, reloaded the CPS etc. still had the same issues. I thought the Motorola CPS was cumbersome��

Hi,

Thanks for your help. I ordered a CS800 and they shipped a CS800D Plus. I have spent a good 8 hours trying to program and probably that much time researching, and have a number of problems. I am going to return it and move on. I think they sent the Plus because it appears to work on vaporware and promises of great things to come.

Contact Manager SHOULD support this radio. There have been many firmware revisions and codeplug format changes. Please give it a try and report back to us. (I have a CS800D that's several years old...the firmware has been updated only once.)
