Hello there,

I was looking to buy some TSB/JLI-2590 Capsules but couldnt find any to ship here to germany with reasonable shipping costs. Micboosters charges 17 pounds for shipping and I paid over 30 euros for import tax the last time i bought from them. JLI charges over 50 bucks (wth...) so theyre out of the question too.?

I then came across listings for 2501 and 2502 capsules on ebay. The 2502s look like the 2590 but without the pcb and the 2501 look exactly like the tsb2590. Its a bit sketchy as all the pictures of them on every website are exactly the same. I found a listing on aliexpress for 11 bucks per capsule and i payed about 5 bucks for shipping.: so I ordered a few.

Im still a bit sketched out because I couldnt find anything about them on the Internet except for these listings. Has anyone ever heard of these capsules? Are they a clone of the 2590s? The Measurements look to be about the same between them. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Hi! I did built Jules ambialice and planned to build two but didn't sadly. Ive got four tsb2590 that I'm not using would you like to buy them or trade them with me? I'm located in Italy.

I would love to build a large diagram condenser mic and just have the donor body, if you have capsules or kits that you don't want I would gladly trade ;)

Sorry I Just came across your Message now. Ive got them installed but having a bit of a problem with them as I described in another post :/ If im not able to fix the issue id gladly come back to your offer tho :)

Hey so it looks like im out of luck with my tsb fakes. Would you still be Interested in trading? I saw you wanted to build a new mic with the tsbs. If ur Interested, as I dont have any use for the primo capsules Id like to trade them :)

We read about your buzz/hum issue, and threw out some solutions for that. Beside that issue, did your 2590 lookalikes work at all? They usually do, even though their specs aren't quite the same.

Be warned that "real" 2590s will also show all the same issues, if there are problems with your circuit or shielding. So I would suggest that you keep experimenting with your clones to get them working nicely. You might be happy with the results, and if you do decide later to upgrade, you will be installing the new capsules into a working design.

I cant imagine this being the case. As I said in the other thread, apart from the electrical buzz they sound fine. But I think the capsules are different because there wouldve been at least some other people having the same problem with the originals as I just followed the Instructable of the ambi alice. Everything works fine so the Circuit works except for the emi shielding, wich I think is the difference between the originals and the "fakes". I had previously built this mic with 4 em272 primo capsules wich worked great so Id just like to upgrade the capsules to working ones so I dont have to alter the design.?

The easiest solution imo would just be to replace the capsules with original ones.

Hey! Sorry I saw your message now. Yes I would love to trade, which primo capsules you have? I'm mostly interested in large diagram condenser ones, but I'm open to possibilities.

How many capsules do you need? I think I have 4 spares?
