Piezo ceramic tubes

 

Hi all,

I finally got my hands on some PC cylinders, unfortunately one of them has a crack in it. Does that render it completely useless does anyone know? I used a 23g needle to inject some epoxy resin just to see if I can be saved but haven't got some of the components for the opamp board to hand. Is it a waste of?time bothering with the cracked tube?

It should work. Bridge the crack on one side with solder. I have a cracked on I use for testing?

Thanks Jules that's?great to know. I ordered two so still have one pristine, which now lives in bubble wrap in a pelicase ?
As an aside for anyone external to the US JLI will ship at more reasonable cost, if you're prepared to forge the insurance (I am in no way blaming JLI for my cracked cylinder by the way)
If you email them and speak they'll sort you out.
