That capsule had a max SPL of 110dB. If you go straight to a condenser without built in FET you can pad it with a capacitor. I’ve used the 2555B with a 220pF capacitor as a drum mic. It handles a very high SPL.

Is there a mic capsule better suited for loud subject matter that one of you folks might suggest, or is the 5024 also usable in louder situations?
