Test Screen

Art

Hi:

I just uploaded a file called 1024.set as a test screen layout. It is a
simplified test screen of 4 axis and fewer controls now that primary
development is to the point of cleaning up the screens.

Comments welcome...

Art,

It needs the Zero individual axis and Zero All buttons on the jog
screen. It does not need them on the MDI screen. For me the normal use
on a machine without home switches is to jog to the position I want as
the origin and then zero all. I can't do that on this test screen. When
in MDI mode I don't use the zero buttons, but instead do a G92 x0y0z0a0
if I want to zero all.

As I am sure you are aware, I am also not an advocate of having jog on
the program run screen. I will just keep chanting to myself, modal,
modal, modal and deleting buttons as I go.

Good point. Perhaps a Ref button on tha main screen, this would
zero a machine that has no home switches....

As to removing Jog on the first screen, Tried that, went there, got
tons of abuse and went back....I still get abuse over the fact that
Jog is not on the MDI screen....

I will remove the zero buttons from the MDI screen though. The MDI
screen is really the only Modal screen in that context, so I do agree
that it should be more of a MDI only type of screen. I do think it
should have indicators as to the state of the engine on it though to
reflect what you have MDI'ed into the mix.

Thanks,
Art
