How to on a macro/

I just got through reading my last download of the manual and did a
search for macro/macros and did not find what I need. I am not a whiz
when it comes to the pc so be patient please.

How do you get a macro from notepad into the available macros file
that is in the config section?

That reminds me :

[ BUG ] The inbuilt macro editor in Mach2 seems to recognise different
carriage return/linefeed chars to Notepad. Macros created and edited in
Notepad come out all on one line in the macro editor.

Mike:

As long as its name is *.m1s it will show up. Make sure you have your
computer set to display the file extensions or you may be creating files
called m44.m1s.txt or something...

I think there is confusion on macros- Am I correct that are really two
places macros can go

1) into files with name like M###.m1s These are run by putting an M### in
your gcode program.

2) into the text box on a screen designer form. These must be saved in the
xml file, and are executed with some screen button is pushed.

Is this correct?

Ron:

Yes, at present those are the only ways. This may change soon as the
"single function" screen capability is added..
