boots and lube

my x axis screws do not seem to last very long. i just ordered boots for both side of the nut and who knows they might actually fit and ???

has anyone used boots to protect their ballscrews?

also what lube is correct to apply to the grease fitting for the cheap Chinese ball screws?

should i just buy the real thing a US made of German or Japanese? do they have better seals?

are there add on brush type or ? wipers.

The only thing I can offer is that where I worked before I retired we used linear recirculating ball slides. They specifically said grease but do not use PTFE impregnated grease. This turned out to be harder that we first thought because when we looked into it a lot of greases had PTFE in them. My machines do not get a lot of use as they are hobby machines but I just use an aerosol glide-way lubricant on the ball screws once in a while.

I have been using Febis K68 way lube on my ball screws and ways and have found it to stick well and not drip. There are other equivalent way lubes out there but I had to buy a 5 gallon pail up here in Canada and have a multi lifetime supply now.
