In mach3 what does angular limit cv mean. There are 2 values here and I am not sure how to define them?
Thanks, John

Hi John:
Hmm, as I recall its function it shoudl make it worse. The effect is telling the system to not CV any line which exceeds that setting. So if its set to 85, it will do exact sop is the angle betwen lines is greater than 85 degrees. (But when its off, all lines shoudl be CV'ed.. Ill take a look at the code, but in the end, if its better on, then leave it on , it wont hurt any any rate..

Hello Art: What about the other value that is listed just below the angular limit? I am not sure of its function. It says cv feedrate in front of it and the value is set to +1.00? If I do most cutting at 250 inches per minute should I set this value at 250 inches per minute. Thanks, John --- In mach1mach2cnc@..., art <fenerty@a...> wrote: Hi John:

Hi John:
Thats CV feedrate. It tells the ocntroller to not begin blending in the next move, until the feedrate falls below that value. In your case, a ballpark woudl be around 40..

Art: Well I have almost got it. I was reading a thread (smooth cutting issue) And followed the advice you gave them and now it cuts smooth except if I increase or decrease the feed rate using the on screen buttons. For instance if I cut an elipse at the programed rate of 300 inches per minute it will cut great. If I run the feed rate up or down on the fly it will instantly cut like it is in exact stop mode. If I edit the program to a feed of 100 inches per minute and reload the gcode. It will then run smooth at the programed rate, but If I run the feed rate up or down on the fly it will instantly cut like it is in exact stop mode. I am not sure what else I have setup wrong. I hope you can help. Thanks John --- In mach1mach2cnc@..., art <fenerty@a...> wrote: Hi John:

John:
Some people seem to have this effect. IT seems related to the setting for acceleration. You shoudl always be able to turn down the speed with FRO , but raising can cause issues with stepper systems. It is advised that you post for a highe rspeed than is required and FRO downwards to control it. Running a 300IPM at 33% shoudl give you a smooth 100IPM. Raising above 100 requires a system that can handle it, most servos run fine. Actually , most steppers do as well, but your system , for whatever reason, may be more sensitive to acceleration changes.
The only option in thsi case is to selectthe option "No FRO on queue" in config/state. This causes the feedrate updates to only apply to objects not yet queued up. This means a delay of up to several seconds while the change takes effect, but will work on any system without trouble. Do not expect an instant responce under that setting though, it has to finish processing the moves it has, before updating the feedrate on further moves. Turning down the lookahead to 10 will help it react faster..
