So nice to see Mach people still supporting each other after so many years. :) Art

Re: Mach3 mill stopped in the middle of a job.
Thanks Tony, I got it running with the low-voltage and apparently it had something to do with the charge pump, still working that but at least it’s running. Chuck -sent from my iphone --

Re: Mach3 mill stopped in the middle of a job.
CMOS circuitry is usually good for triggering down to 2v, so the 3.5v Chuck is reading should be enough. Probably not the issue, however I have had situations where if running of 5v then the trigger

Re: Mach3 mill stopped in the middle of a job.
Peter, Steve Stalings just gave me some new jumper settings on the PMDX board that allowed me to get my machine running In spite of the lower voltages, Which supports your input. As I understand

Re: Mach3 mill stopped in the middle of a job.
...kind of late to this thread here.... just saw someone with issues...? ...? I've been running a PMDX-126, with Geckos.... have the remote panel for the PMDX as well, mounted up at the users

Re: Mach3 mill stopped in the middle of a job.
I really doubt that it will be too low a voltage that is the cause. The PMDX breakout boards are quality boards, well designed and will most certainly be using 74ACT or other buffers that are capable

Even better. Perfect! Fingers crossed, Lou

Re: Mach3 mill stopped in the middle of a job.
Lou, looks like for $20. I can get one of these, easy Peezy, if low-voltage is my problem, ?which I hope it is. Thanks Chuck

Re: Mach3 mill stopped in the middle of a job.
Lou, thanks for the input, if the voltage is too low, that Could be the issue. I’m not familiar with pull up resistors, but I can do some googling, Chuck

Re: Mach3 mill stopped in the middle of a job.
John, I understand not Running the machine with these safety devices disconnected. I’ve actually plugged the motors from the control box. I have tried what you have suggested relative to reading

Re: Mach3 mill stopped in the middle of a job.
?Chuck, you report 3.5v output on the || port. While well within the IEEE specs, that may be a marginal voltage, and could explain why it only works intermittently. If your voltage is marginal,

Re: Mach3 mill stopped in the middle of a job.
Hi Chuck, I’m not suggesting try a jumper and then try running CNC. I’m suggesting disable the charge pump and don’t reconnect it. Whatever is required to do that. Then start tracing

Re: Mach3 mill stopped in the middle of a job.
John, I just tried changing the jumpers JP4 and that didn’t make any difference. I then change the jumper on JP3 and again no improvement. When I say changed, I’m talking about changing them from

Re: Mach3 mill stopped in the middle of a job.
Hi Chuck, On my PMDX_125 and 126 it’s possible to jumper or disable the need for the charge pump. To remove one more variable I’d disable that. Once disabled see if the direction signals into

Re: Mach3 mill stopped in the middle of a job.
I’m still chasing gremlins, but I have some more information that may generate some new ideas. There have been a lot of inputs so far and I have addressed them with no joy. so here is where I am

Re: Mach3 not working
Thanks to Peter Homann, ?output #4 flashing red lhas been explained, and it is working as it should work. It is tied to “enable mist” ?in “spindle control “.
