Sounds reasonable. I’m not familiar with Germany’s energy model or why they stopped their nuclear reactors, but certainly anything they can do to replace Russian gas would be a good move.

Yes. But will that actually happen? No.
The international judicial system said Russia should withdraw immediately from the Ukraine, that didn’t happen. Russia isn’t going to care if they are told they should let an international workforce take over Chernoble.

Perhaps internationally….my understanding is the additional barrels of oil would just be passing through the US, going to Mexico, so it wouldn’t help with US prices.

Ed has said “adding 830,000 per day to US coastal refineries”….to clarify, this pipe would carry 830,000 barrels/day….however it is replacing a pipeline that carries 550,000 barrels a day, so the net gain is only 280,000 barrels per day.

To clarify, what is called the “Keystone Pipeline” is actually 4 different pipelines/sections. 3 of the 4 were completed and running. The 4^th part was stopped due to potential environmental damage, and from what I understand it would have added only 280,000 barrels, and those barrels would not have benefited the US. So given my current understanding of the lack of benefit to the US vs the environmental damage to the US, I would say no, Biden should not let the 4^th part of the Keystone Pipeline be finished.

I think this is quite hyperbolic. 280,000 barrels/day is miniscule in the grand scheme of oil, and by no means would solve the energy problems of hundreds of millions of people.
