1. Was Zelensky smart to tell Vance that diplomacy was a bad idea? I wasn't sure that he did just that, but I understand Zelensky's reluctance to cut a deal with Putin, since Russia reneged on its guarantee to protect Ukraine after Ukraine turned over its nuclear weapons to Russia, and Russia's subsequent annexation of Crimea. 2.? Did you watch Trump's speech to Congress Tuesday night? No; I probably should, though. 3.? Will tariffs raise retail prices? In some?imported?goods, yes, but in the long run in some goods the net gain will be better for the USA.? 4.? How much of national spending do you think is wasteful/fraudulent? More is wasteful than fraudulent.? A lot of government employees are in unneeded jobs, probably 20% or so. 5.? Do you think the world economy will be worse off or better off at the end of the current year than it was at the end of the previous year? Smart money is betting on a global recession.?
