1.? Will the reputation of Jimmy Carter change now that he has died?

I imagine it will continue to evolve in the usual manner as the?narrative adapts?to new times, perspectives and needs.

2.? Should obesity treating drugs that cost substantial amounts be covered by insurance?

I suppose not, although the?U.S. citizenry?has been manipulated?into a consumer role over many decades now. When the populace?was overwhelmingly young and healthy, we needed to farm them as prodigious eaters and users of pharm to profit as deeply as possible off them. As the adverse effects of the short-sighted profiteering binge became apparent in the form of lifestyle diseases in an aging population, the money began to flow backwards and the healthcare insurers dug in their heels. Now we have a topheavy and tottering healthcare structure over-invested in everything?from school?loans to insulin to litigation. The attendant obesity is a direct result of marketing candy and tobacco and huge dinner portions. While some have attempted to invest in weight loss in order to pull in the reins on the financial avalanche?until the inconsiderate Baby Boomers die off the insurance dole, many corporate entities seem to be of a mind to wipe hands and let the public look after itself. Attrition will eventually erode the problem away.

As a nurse, I prefer healthy?lifestyles to further pharmacological profiteering. This course would also have the advantage?of promoting cognitive coping skills resistant to consumer farming, perhaps moving us away from?our Matrix pods in the future. As has been mentioned, though, this would be a harder course for many and whether we could stay it depends a lot on what our core values are nowadays.

3.? What was the biggest oops of the last year?

I still have not seen any zombies even as extreme weather, dire environmental?predictions, terrorist incidents, expanding global warfare, spreading infrastructure failures, escalating disease outbreaks, devolving?social cohesion and ridiculous?grocery totals consume the planet. I am disappointed and consider this to be an oops in the Plan.

("Zombies" is a term I love to use for humanoid social?germs such?as predatory criminal gangs, hordes of disease victims, rampaging rioters or displaced foraging multitudes. I am being facetious, of course, but I do feel that any tipping point of social decay will evidence significant numbers of one or all of these. Haiti comes to mind...)

4.? What was the biggest lie of the year?

There is no danger to the public at this time...

5.? Do you think the Las Vegas incident was related to the New Orleans incident?

If not directly, there is still an obvious link through the day-and-times route. They are part of The New Normal.

1.? Will the reputation of Jimmy Carter change now that he has died?
There's certainly no need for it to change. He was a great example of humanity.

2.? Should obesity treating drugs that cost substantial amounts be covered by insurance?
Yes, if they are being used to treat a life-threatening condition.

3.? What was the biggest oops of the last year?
It would help to have a category for this because there were so many. Boeing had a lot of oopses. So did Tesla.

4.? What was the biggest lie of the year?
That electing Trump would result in lower prices.

5.? Do you thinnk the Las Vegas incident was related to the New Orleans incident?
No, not at all.

Celeste

1.? Will the reputation of Jimmy Carter change now that he has died?

Probably so but exactly how is not obvious.? He did a? lot of great things after he left the White House, but also did some inncredibly stupid ones as well - most notoriously getting involved in diplomatic negotiations.

2.? Should obesity treating drugs that cost substantial amounts be covered by insurance?

I really don't know.? I have one friend who has been using them for about six months and has apparently lost about thirty five lb - though she has another hundred to go before she gets down to a healhty weight.? The biggest question is what happens if the user don't change their eating and exercise habits, as well as what happens if they quit taking the drugs.

3.? What was the biggest oops of the last year?

I think maintaining that BIden was as sharp as ever - though from some reports I have seen he was never regarded as the the sharpest knife in the drawer

4.? What was the biggest lie of the year?

That Biden was not cognitively challenged.

5.? Do you think the Las Vegas incident was related to the New Orleans incident?

I don't know and doubt we will ever rind out.? There is one unconfrimed report that the driver committed suicide, but only one and that is not from a reliable source.? The video of the explosion looks like a small fire that ignited propane cylinders in the truck bed.? If the explosion had been a high order detonation of lbs of high explosive there would have been very little left of the truck.

Marvin,

Why do you think there is only one report? Why do you believe it to be unconfirmed?

Never know. ?Yep. ?The American federal government have got into a comfortable groove of lying to the people for whom they know they only theoretically work. ?They lie and the news media support them. ?Maybe half the electorate despise them, but they don't care, because they have the power. ?The deep state, the swamp. ?If Republicans can leverage this last election into something broad and deep and lasting, there is a *chance* that the swamp will *begin* to dry up, but it will take generations.

.

1.? Will the reputation of Jimmy Carter change now that he has died?

Well, he's no longer the worst living President. That can move to Biden. Or, arguably, Obama was worse than both of them and should have been wearing the title all along.

?

2.? Should obesity treating drugs that cost substantial amounts be covered by insurance?

Depends on the insurance plan. In a widespread plan that covers many people, maybe everybody, and is paid by taxpayers or has low premiums -no, it should not. In a more elite plan with high premiums - sure, go for it.

?

3.? What was the biggest oops of the last year?

The UK electing a Labour government and Keir Starmer as Prime Minister. Not that they had much choice. The Conservative Party had betrayed the people for years, turning into an idiotic woke "progressive" party just like the leftists all over western countries. I have great hope that Kemi Badenoch will turn the Conservative Party back into a true conservative party, and see her election as leader as a very good sign that times are changing. Meanwhile, though, the UK is stuck with the hugely destructive and dangerous Labour Party, and the truly evil Keir Starmer.

?

4.? What was the biggest lie of the year?

Quite a lot to choose from there. The nonsense idea that there was famine in Gaza for one, and the even more ridiculous contention that Israel was causing that fictitious famine. And to top it off, the completely bizarre and impossible claim that Israel was trying to "genocide" the fictitious Palestinian people in Gaza. In Canada, the ridiculous and nonsensical claims continue that children were killed in Residential Schools for natives, and their bodies buried secretly in unmarked graves. Also, that Canada tried to "genocide" the native people, or maybe their culture, and that former students of the residential schools should be called "survivors". And of course in the USA, claims continued that Joe Biden was capable and mentally intact, although only for the first half of the year. But the largest lie remains, throughout the world, that CO2 can control the weather, that there is some sort of danger or crisis because of the weather, and that anything people can do could actually do anything to change the weather. There is a lot of nonsense going around.

?

5.? Do you thinnk the Las Vegas incident was related to the New Orleans incident?

No. New Orleans Guy seems to be a common garden variety home grown Islamist terrorist, out to terrorize and kill as many people as possible to advance the worldwide caliphate of hate and slaughter.

Los Vegas Guy seems to be an active duty decorated soldier with PTSD and some family problems and possibly chronic pain, who sadly took his own life, and did it in a way meant to attract attention and serve as a "wake-up call" about how badly the country is governed, but seems to have gone out of his way to make it showy but to cause as little damage or harm to others and the surroundings as possible.
