1. Have you ever heard of Jevon's Paradox?? Interesting commentary on innovation. Not until now. Kinda makes sense, although I did not check for accuracy. Looked like it might turn into a rather convoluted rabbit hole. I think the draw in a consumer culture is the tipping point becomes too much work to reach higher, so I expect that the effect in question would be self-limiting? At least until the next improvement in resource availability lowers the effort of collecting for a time. 2.? Is Trump serious about annexing Gaza and performing a renovation to make it the Riviera of the Eastern Mediterranean? Since he is a businessman by trade and well-surrounded with other businesspeople, I expect he would be fine with investing in a huge hunk of oceanfront property, especially given the strategic advantages the property and the nation obtaining it would offer. He could rename it to Dubai Riviera and build Trump Tower East smack in the middle. (That last part was tongue-in-cheek, in case the written medium does not convey?that!) I guess all the illegal immigrant deportations could go there for retraining as low-wage hospitality?staff, which is a step up from being low-wage field staff? Imaginative problem solving. Either the Prez has a genius equal to my own and has already thought of all this, else he is throwing out verbal shock bombs to keep his opposition busy. 3. Should soy and almond milk be labeled as non milk preparation? I am a big fan of almond milk and have used little dairy milk in years, so I am used to the label it already has.Still Wikipedia does specify milk as a product of mammary glands, so maybe I should get behind "Almond Milksub" or some such. 4.? Is inflation driven by corporate concentration? I suspect it is driven by many factors. In some cases this may be one, but I would not guess that it is an exclusive, or even primary, driver.
5.? Are you surprised by the number of executive orders Trump has issued so far? No. I was a little surprised by the first day, but then I just figured he now has experience with how hindsight frames history. Plus, he came into this with experience and a master plan laid out and so there will likely be far less fumbling than we might otherwise expect. ? |
