[M-Positive} Second shot: check!
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýCongrats Anabel, and glad to see they were 8 weeks apart. New information coming out of Israel and the UK who were ahead of the pack in vaccinating suggests that if the 2 shots were given close together, like within 3 weeks, which is what Israel did, the efficacy begins to fade quite soon. If they were far apart, like 11 or 12 weeks as the UK did, the efficacy so far is not fading. Good news for us here in Canada where we followed the same strategy as the UK, doing only 1st shots when the vaccine was in short supply, adding the 2nd shot much later. My own were 11 weeks apart. In the USA, they did them much closer together and may suffer from a drop off in effectiveness. Here too, in the face of the Delta variant, they have begun to rush them, requiring only 2 weeks between. It's looking like that's a bad idea. 3rd boosters may be required everywhere that strategy was followed. Pat ---------- Original Message ----------
