Friday Five answers August 23 I lost the questions
1.? This one is from a contributor.? I think the answer is a question of degree - I am more suspicious of entities that I can not engage with and even more with ones that I suspect are created out of whole cloth.
2.? The question really is what information is available and whether or not any individual is allowed to use that knowledge to make decisions.? This one comes from a book I am reading where the theory was posited that denying employers the ability to look at criminal records means certain groups of people are unfairly excluded because there is a higher rate of criminal convictions within that group.? In this instance lack of information drives prejudice. 3.? RFK dropping out is probably going to help Trump but not as much as it would if all Kennedy voters went for Trump.? A certain proportion are going to go for Harris and probably a higher proportion are either going to writein a third party candidate or just not cast a vote. 4.? Can't remember the question. 5.? After looking at replies - I think the Middle East and all the associated problems are going to be the center of attention for the next hundred years.? Apparently the Houthis have won their war - even the Russians are avoiding the Suez Canal. |

My responses have the?questions in them! In case you ever need them again... The Middle East may not last a hundred more years, but I certainly hope the combined navies of so many nations can take control of one little canal. Of course, that would be expensive, so it would probably be less costly to invade Iran for real and extract the cost from the conquered. Or we could try a sane approach and all convert to Islam en masse, totally deflating the entire shared Special Purpose of the terrorist?groups. Sun Tzu: "All warfare is based on deception" and "The greatest victory is that which requires no battle." Other than that, I am out of ideas. This probably does not bode well for the Western World, but I will try to brainstorm. D On Sat, Aug 24, 2024 at 8:29?PM mrvnchpmn via <chapman=[email protected]> wrote:

¿ªÔÆÌåÓýIt turned out to be not much of a thing for Oahu. In fact we had our Mensa Hawaii Annual Beach Party yesterday. It didn't even rain at the beach that I had chosen for it. We barbecued and enjoyed the day.Aloha, Celeste On 8/25/2024 2:10 AM, Darrell King
