Thread size for polar scope illuminator

What is the size of the threads for the polar scope illuminator?

i have eyepiece illuminator but of course they are a different thread size. Keep thinking of trying to make something to adapt to the polar scope.

Thanks in advance,
Mike

Hi Mike...

I checked my version of the Losmandy polar scope off my 15 year old G11 (for which I also am missing the illuminator), and I was surprised to find it is actually a metric thread, Scott is pretty good about standardizing on imperial/SAE threads on his mounts, but the threads for the illuminator on my polar scope are actually M6x1. If you do decide? to McGiver a new illuminator, please report back and let us know how it went.

Jeff

Hello,

I am in the process of producing and selling clear polycarbonate plugs for the polar scope illuminator mounting hole. These plugs will allow one to simply use a red light to illuminate the reticle and not allow dust to enter the scope body.? To answer your question:

Illuminator Thread Size: M6-1.00 x 4.15mm length,?this is metric coarse

A cautionary note, be? careful when inserting any object into the polar scope illuminator mounting hole as the reticle is easily damaged.
