Scope Location and NINA

Constantly having the same issue when connecting scope to NINA, MAXIM and any other software.? Tonight for example, the G11 HC (physical device) shows my location (LAT/LONG/TIME) correctly.? However, when connecting to any software package (like NINA) and I look at the virtual Gemini HC on screen, shows my location as Hollywood with everything zeroed out.? When I then try to slew to a star it is way off.? Also, the Gemini Virtual HC will not let me enter a new LAT/LONG/TIME.

Anyone else come across this issue????

Is it possible you have Set Gemini time and location on connect in your Gemini application?

I don't believe so (read somewhere to not allow that) but will check again.

I had an issue (post DST change?) where EKOS thought the mount was pointing a different location than it was.? Doing a cold start and ensuring the latitude, longitude and time were correct sorted it out for me.

Note that as per the Gemini.net documentation, one can't configure site info in the driver:

"Note: It is not possible to configure the preprogrammed sites via the driver; this must be done via the physical Gemini hand box (Gemini-1) and using the Web interface for the Gemini-2 and Gemini-2 Mini."

Keith, I think the discussion was regarding time and latitude/longitude settings. These can be set from the driver. Custom site can also be selected from the driver. Either one can be set to update automatically, when the driver connects to the mount.

I agree with Paul but Keith brought up an interesting point and I assumed the LAT/LONG/TIME could be set from the PC Gemini? interface but it appears it cannot.? Leaning more toward what Keith wrote because web interface definitely does not allow you to change the LAT/LONG.? I'm going to go to observatory now and see where it shows the interface between PC and Mount.? I definitely do now want any writing from PC to mount, only mount to PC.

Realized something new (for me anyway).? I've been using the virtual HC on my PC, the one you download from the ASCOM site.? This has been working fine for me but is where I noticed the LAT/LONG/TIME setting could not be changed once connected to the mount.

Last night (for some reason I had completely forgotten all about the feature), I used the HC controller via the Losmandy network interface.? Using that feature, I did not run in any issues with the mount or scope interface.
