I was out playing this weekend and got a shot of M81. ?Taken with my C8 edge, and zwo 294 pro mounted on the G11T. ?

Thanks Brian! My camera is my trusty zwo 294 pro OSC. ?I really like the dynamic range of that sensor. ? ?I have had it for a few years now. ?The only filter I used for this image is a UV/IR cut filter. ?I might pull more out of the limbs of the spiral with a lp filter. ?Best would be to get away from my bortle7-8 back yard, lol. ? Most of the processing is done in Startools. ?I like the deconvolution module in the latest version, as well as the noise reduction module. ?Color balancing/adjustment is my main Nemisis, and something I am still learning. ?I find I have best luck playing with color in paintshoppro. ? ?

At some-point I might convince myself to go all in and start doing Narrowband. ?Sony's newest APC and Full size sensors are really tempting, but it is going to be a while before I have discretionary cash to go that route. ?I still have a lot to learn with respect to guiding, processing etc... that can be done with the current camera. ? Just this last time out I figured out that I had some cable sticking. ?I fixed that and was guiding under 0.5 RMS for the first time;-). ?I also "discovered" this thing called mirror flop:-). ?I have only ever imaged with the C8 Edge unguided prior to this, so mirror motion was covered up by whatever drift I had going on. ?I figure I will probably have to shift to an off axis guider at some point as well. ? It is funny, every time I improve something, it reveals three more things that need fixing, lol. ?Keeps me from getting bored!

Working my way up the software learning curve! ?Reprocessed the original image. ? Turns out there is really color in there:-). ?Interestingly I have a strange blue flare on the brightest stars, the source of which I need to track down, but generally I think it is a bit more representative. ?Like I said in the earlier post, fix one thing, find some more:-). ?
