Improving the G-11

I picked up a used G-11 mount fairly recently and while I am generally happy with it, I would like a slightly smoother operation.? I am not, however, in any way mechanical and cringe at the idea of disassembling this magnificent piece of machinery.? Are there techniques for improving the movement of this mount without serious disassembly?? Any websites explaining these techniques?
