GM8

Brian Kennedy

I have a GM8 and some questions.

1) I am reading alot about tearing down and relubing the GM11. Is
this something I should consider doing to my GM8? If so, what is the
best lube to do this with?

2) My mount came without the delron gear covers. Should I invest in
them. Will they offer me that much more protection. Thanks.

Clear Skies,
Brian

If you have DSC encoders then its a good idea to get the delrin covers..they
prevent the encoder cables from getting caught in the gears.

Herm,

Yes, I do have the DSC encoders. I'll give Pocono a call and see if
they have them in stock.

Thanks,
Brian.

You can also wrap the cables in plastic coil protectors (sold in Radio Shack to
protect cables, semi rigid), route them and attach then to the head..you only
get in trouble when the cables are flopping around, sooner or later one gets
caught in the gears. Use tie-wraps and self adhesive tie points to secure
everything.
