Pec training

Just want to say thanks for the PEC training videos Brian. I got a mini pc with windows the other day, and was able to use pempro to do the training. Started out with PE around 2, and ended up with it at around 0.7. I haven't tried imaging with it yet, but so far so good.?

I was avoiding it because I don't have or want windows (I never forgave microsoft for win 3.11). I actually got pempro working in wine on Linux, but then needed ascom, and the mini pc had windows, so I just used that...

So thanks again, and keep them coming!

Jamie

Ah yes, I read about someone trying running PemPRO on Wine and also got stuck with ASCOM.

I have a similar need, as I have replaced my astro'laptop with a RaspberryPi. I was thinking of pluging a USB cable to my laptop when doing PEC recording.

But I have discovered that MS is now providing ARM uup files and folks at??are providing the tools to cook an ISO.
I have successfully booted Win10 from a SD card on my PI.
It is still experimental, WIFI driver is missing at the time, but I am sure it will get stable fast.

Great to hear! Where are these videos at? Didn¡¯t see them in the files or database sections.?

I would appreciate it if any of the other Linux users would post a minimal configuration to run PEMPro.? I went out last night to try to run it and never really got started (couldn't seem to focus the camera).? I also managed to screw up my Gemini configuration and may have to do a full reset to recover.? (If I'm lucky, I only forgot the negative sign on longitude.)

Thanks -- Richard

Where can we find these? ?The Losmandy Youtube site? ?Thanks!

There's only a windows version. I managed to get it working under wine in Linux but then it needed ascom working in wine as well. I probably could have continued and got that working as well but decided to just run it on a windows mini pc instead.
