RAEXK or RAEXT? What's the difference?

Hi all,
With all the backlogs, I'm trying to ensure I don't order the wrong part and then have to go through an additional backlog to order the right part.? ?I'm not 100% sure what the difference is between the two RA upgrades.
I've ordered a G11G, and when you use the Losmandy configurable mount page to purchase, if you add an RA kit, it appends the order to "G11G-BRAEXK".

Therefore, my assumption would be that since all new G11G mounts are sold with tucked motors, that the "RAEXK" would be the correct RA kit to order.? However, when you read the descriptions it says the RAEXT is for the new design tucked motors not the RAEXK.

So, I'm unclear if I need the RAEXK because that is what the Losmandy configurable mount order page adds to the order, or if I need the RAEXT because that's the one that supports the tucked motors.? ?I'd like to think the RAEXK would be correct for a new G11G, but the same order page has pricing errors when ordering packages, so I don't want to assume there are no item errors when using the same page given the new store order page is a work in progress.

I want the RA kit for both allowing me to separate the RA and DEC parts for easier transport, and for the meridian flip through.? ?Is it me, or is the descriptions and the order page unclear or confusing?? ?What am I missing?

Hi Mike

when you order from that page you will receive the correct RA Extension kit.

For a new G11 mount you'll need the RAEXT

The two kits are identical, except the "K" version has an extra spacer in there. in the worst case if you received the RAEXK, you would just get an extra part

As I read it... The "K" version adds a spacer under the clamp (Saddle Plate). 0.6"
Gives a little lift there for the Non-Tucked motor versions. (older versions)
I didn't need that with my GM811G, so I simply ordered the RAEXT for my later version mount.

I am so glad I ordered this option for my 811. I gave me a quick and highly accurate way to further separate my for moving.
Having the RAEXT allows me to have the Dec axis as one piece, and my weight always stays in balance because it never has to be removed.

Scott really thinks these modifications through and takes care of his past customers, as well as his newer customers.
It really gives credence to, "Because it's the last mount you will ever need."
I know of no other mount that offers the customer the great options that a Losmandy mount offers. Its been perfect for me.

Thanks Brian. ? And thank the gang for the new YouTube videos that came out today. ? I know a 5 minute video takes hours to produce, but the more n00b friendly, new mount owner focused videos the better IMO.

Glad you like them, love to do them :)

Is there an equivalent of the RAEXK for the original GM8 without the tucked in motors?

Hi Bryn

Sorry there is not an RA Extension for the G8. If you upgrade your RA to the GM811, that option becomes available

the G8 is already so small and lightweight
