Email Verification

I never got an email to verify my email address.

Pete, not everyone is going to be asked to re-verify their email. If you didn't get the email from Groups.IO (not from me!) asking you to verify your email, you don't need to do it. That email would have a subject line similar to this:

Action Required: Confirm Your Groups.io Membership to Continue Receiving Group Emails

Okay thanks, so I guess I am not going to get one at this point.

Its because you have been active on here, It will not see the account as spam is my understanding. If you want to make sure I think you just log out and log back in.? That's the way I read it.

It's actually more related to where your email is hosted. All the large and medium size email services are automatically excluded from re-verification (for example gmail.com, comcast.net, outlook.com or hotmail.com, aol, etc.)

All the users with smaller or unknown email hosts are being asked to re-verify. If you have your email sent to your own domain, for example.

Thanks for the clarification Paul. It makes sense now.

My email is about as obscure as you could get. My father started his own domain way back when it all started.

That's not an accurate statement. I have a gmail.com account and I got the email.

I'm not sure which email you received, Joel. In the group membership logs there is no indication that you are either required to verify or have already verified, so you should not have received this. Possibly you received the message from me, but as was indicated before, that's not the message you should be looking for. Instead, look for one from groups.io with subject line:?Action Required: Confirm Your Groups.io Membership to Continue Receiving Group Emails

Here's the message from the Groups.io owner with some details:

Mea culpa...

What I interpreted to be the notification to log out and back in was your notification that it was coming.

I apologize for the confusion.

For clarity, I did not?receive that email starting with "Action Required..."

Joel
