Re: Titan RA + G11 DEC for side-by-side visual
Thanks Les - at 44lbs-ish for the Titan RA - yep, that's pretty heavy. But I'm thinking any tripod to support this is going to be up there in weight also. Ok thx for validating - all great info there.

Re: Titan RA + G11 DEC for side-by-side visual
Losmandy thinks the G11T is good for 75 lb for photography. It ought to be fine for your application, if the tripod isn¡¯t a limiting factor. The Titan is a beast. I thought the G11 was pretty

They have the G8 DEC available, just call and ask for it Brian Sent: Friday, October 11, 2019 12:59 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [Losmandy_users_io] Titan RA + G11 DEC for side-by-side

Re: Titan RA + G11 DEC for side-by-side visual
Huh you are correct, I don't see the G8 Dec listed separately like the TRA-Axis (RA Titan). But I've seen videos/screenshots with Scott and the G8 DEC if I recall, so I bet just a phone call and they

Re: Titan RA + G11 DEC for side-by-side visual
That would be a great product for Losmandy to offer - a Titan RA axis with GM8 Dec axis. Perfect for existing G11 owners playing mix-and-match ?

Re: Titan RA + G11 DEC for side-by-side visual
Cool thx. If I go with the TRA-Axis (Titan RA) then I might pickup a smaller G8 DEC to pop on the G11 RA and use that combo for imaging and the larger TRA-Axis + G11 DEC for the side-by-side viewing.

Re: Titan RA + G11 DEC for side-by-side visual
Yes that's correct That ends up being a G11T mount. I interchange my DEC with my G11T and my G11 I just wanted to make sure you didn't end up buying a full Titan, which comes with the Titan Dec! Brian

Re: Titan RA + G11 DEC for side-by-side visual
Thx Brian - I actually have the G11 DEC and RA in the split axis model - so it was something like G11GFT with the RAEXK axis adapters - My understanding is I can just plug the Titan RA with the RAEXK

Re: Titan RA + G11 DEC for side-by-side visual
Thank you all - Yes, I saw the Titan group - but it had a pretty small membership so thought I'd post more broadly here as I think my questions are more around the impact of side-by-side for visual.

just to clarify a "Titan RA" with G11 DEC is a G11T you can't actually use *the* Titan RA with the G11 DEC Brian wrote: -- Brian Brian Valente portfolio brianvalentephotography.com

There is a Titan IO group as well. ?Not a lot of traffic but some well experienced folk there. ?Though they usually visit these forums as well. /g/Titan-mount/topics That¡¯s a lot

Re: Titan RA + G11 DEC for side-by-side visual
?Hi Charles, I can only comment on the side-by-side balancing. With the Losmandy side-by-side plate (which works well for me) you turn the mount's saddle sideways to accept the side-by-side

Titan RA + G11 DEC for side-by-side visual
Hello - new to forum. I have a G11 with split axis currently, use it primarily for imaging. I'm considering a heavier payload for visual observing, a side-by-side setup with and Edge14hd and an AP

First thing I'd do is pull the ?processor inspect the pins for corrosion and reinsert it.? Any contact cleaner?can be deal with corrosion. I've used WD-40 and a q-tip.

Re: Dec drive not working
Greg, The first two things to check are the handbox and the sockets (6p6c modular phone receptacle) on the PCB, esp. the one for the DEC drive - you seem to have eliminated the cable and the motor

Re: Gemini 2 6 pin DIN cables
I agree that the existing cables are a minimum length and they have frictional insulation that can grab the metal surfaces. You also have a rare mount in the G11T, which has a more massive RA drive

Greg. Can you plug the Ra into the DEC .....and does this move? ?Probably not. The motors are bipolar types there is an IC MIC5801YN that drives the respective motor coils. ?I¡¯m not at home atm
