Re: Guiding spikes

Re: Guiding spikes

Re: Help to identify this G11x?
Hi Mike, It looks like someone did a bunch of updates to this mount already, so you may want to ask about the history of what was done inside if anything. Were the bearings replaced or was it relubed

Re: Help to identify this G11x?
Another age giveaway is the worm covers which are just anodized aluminum angle stock, not the intentionally machined Al parts of modern age. I would bet the worms are stainless steel, used for many

Re: Help to identify this G11x?
The tucked in servo motor upgrade changes the position of the servo motor by flipping it under the worm drive. This is achieved by adding a pair of spur gears with a 1:1 ratio. The advantage is much

Re: Help to identify this G11x?
This G11 is probably an older mount that came with the original Losmandy #492 Digital Drive system given the original 2-piece worm blocks and solid elevation knob which was original starting in 1992

Good news.? Cleaned USB port, all ports actually, with electical cleaner and all seems good.? It's been working just fine for the last hour and a half.

This mount could be in the 10 to 20-year-old range. I think one give away is the black altitude knob which has since changed to an aluminum one with textured surface for grip. This is the same one my

Re: Help to identify this G11x?
I have an opportunity to buy this locally, but do not have any experience with Losmandy mounts, other than they have a good reputation. So knowing very little about these I was just trying to
