Re: Polar Alignment Routine
are you and Deric comparing notes? :)
Just to clarify, the alignment routines for building a pointing model
('align' in gemini hand controller) is completely separate from polar

Re: Polar Alignment Routine
I can only speak for my limited experience with my fairly new Gemini 2 on my GM811G HD.
Yes, there is a PA routine. For me, it has not worked. It tells me to pick two stars, then goes to star #1.
Then

Re: Polar Alignment Routine
Deric
FYI polaris is not a good target to align on - it's at the pole
Also that alignment process is different than polar alignment
polar align = adjust alt/az physical adjustments until it's

Re: Polar Alignment Routine
Hi Tim
yes there is a polar alignment routine built into Gemini
That being said, the third party options for polar alignment are so good
nowadays, it would probably be easier and more accurate to

Re: Polar Alignment Routine
Give up on polar scope, - just stick a camera in the finder scope and use
SharpCap - way simple to use and accurate.

I sold my CGEM which had a routine in the hand controller. ?After a two star alignment you could goto a star then use the mount RA Dec adjustments to center it. ?I was wondering if Gemini had

Re: GM-8 controller question
Hi Guilherme
for the 492 controller there are no updates
you might just want to pull it out, exercise the RA and DEC (slew around on
both axis) and see how things work. I don't know how you stored

Re: Next Zoom Meeting Topic - Your Input Here
Okay thanks Sonny
btw regarding the software i mentioned, my plan was to use SGP *as an
example*, but many of the concepts and settings would be similar, such as

Re: Next Zoom Meeting Topic - Your Input Here
Personally, I don't need help with PHD2, got that nailed my first year.
PEC is not a problem for my GM811G HD. Either I am blessed, or my methods have not called for dabbling with it.
I'm curious, I

Re: Holder for Gemini-2 HC?
I have my system mounted in an observatory, and put velcro on all four sides of the pier, so I can put the controller on the nearest side I'm on while fiddling with the scope locally.

If you want to do one before the other that good with me.
But I would like to see all three.
Thank you for asking.
