Re: Pole master on G11 with Digital Drives
Ok thanks, when the clouds clear I'll try it out. I want to start using my 300mm f/4 Newtonian scope which has a focal length of 1200mm so need to get reasonably good polar alignment since I usually

Re: Pole master on G11 with Digital Drives
Correct. There is no park position on the 492 Digital drive systems. However getting the bubble levels just right isn¡¯t that critical either. After you rotated back it asks you to find the stars

I think Tim is saying to get as close as you can back to your starting position. -- Chip Louie Chief Daydreamer Imagination Hardware Astropheric Weather Forecast - South Pasadena, CA Astrospheric

Re: Pole master on G11 with Digital Drives
Thanks for this Tim - I don't think there is a park position on the Digital Drive G11. I do have bubble levels on the mount so make sure it is level.

Re: Pole master on G11 with Digital Drives
I rotate my mount manually. ?Just make sure you return to the park position accurately. ? My mount has levels to square up both axis

Re: Installing tucked in motors
OK, some pictures of my GM811G Dec motor for you to reference. I think I could see why you might think your motor is kitty-wampus. But if it is landing flat on the surface it sets in, I'd bet it

Re: Pole master on G11 with Digital Drives
Hi Robert there are quite a few DD users out there :) yes you can rotate it by hand, that's fine. just make sure it's tracking otherwise you'll get smeared stars -- Brian Brian Valente

Pole master on G11 with Digital Drives
Hello everyone. I'm still using a G11 with Digital Drives for astrophotography with a Sony A7 III (the field of view with a 700 mm focal length refractor is over 2.5 degrees and the Sony live view

Re: Installing tucked in motors
This is correct on the GM8 tucked in servo motor installation for both DEC and RA. There is a plate used to tilt the drive out just enough for the servos to clear. -- Chip Louie Chief Daydreamer

Hi Deric i should have clarified i meant only for DEC. the RA motor should go in a specific orientation as you pointed out Brian wrote:

Hello Brian, I can see how it could interfere with The PoleMaster. But it does not interfere at all with using the Polar align scope.you cannot see any part the motor housing through the scope. On the

Roger, You will love it. It is a perfect match for the 11 RASA. I know because I have both a G11 and 11 RASA. John

Yes. Also Deric mentioned installing it 180 opposite direction, that's fine too. There's no technical reason not to do that, but I find it can interfere with the polar scope hole (and also when used

Ok. Brian's video shows the assembly like Glenn had it in already. That puts the motor back optical encoder detector section pointing up and out of the way of the RA polar scope axis cap. In his

Re: Installing tucked in motors
Can anyone send me a photo of the correct assembly of the DEC motor. It seems the only way to straighten it it to take the assembly apart to re-align the screws. ?I shouldn¡¯t have to do that.
