Re: Losmandy group on Astrobin
OK, call me stupid.
How do you actually JOIN this group?
(I'm registered. Just couldn't find any joint button, or way.)

Re: Bookmarks don't "SET" /save.
Slewing and the "Set Here" works. It seems like the manual way should work too, 'though?

Re: Bookmarks don't "SET" /save.
I haven't tried manually typing them in, but I know what I described works,
so maybe go with that for now?

Re: Bookmarks don't "SET" /save.
The instructions seem to imply that you can manually enter and set as well, but you are saying that Bookmarks can only be set by slewing to them first.
I'll try that...
Thanks.

Re: Bookmarks don't "SET" /save.
Hi Anthony
it works a little differently
first you goto the target (however you do that: use a catalog target, type

once the goto is completed you then use the

Bookmarks don't "SET" /save.
I am trying to add a bookmark on my G11G2 so I can easily return to the same framing for consecutive nights of imaging.
After I type in the RA and DEC coordinates under GoTo>Bookmark and Bookmark #0

Yes paraffin is what you call kerosene, and petrol is what you call gasoline ¨C sure it is flammable, but it does shift the grease well.

Re: G11 bearing lubrication
My White Lithium Grease went in the trash can, I will get Superlube.
As for WD-40 I want to use it on these bearings not as lubricant but to loosen up crud and anything left of the old factory grease,

Hi Vahe,
WD-40 is not really a solvent though it is often called up for the task. WD-40 is a Water Displacement spray, it has some low level lubricity but it is not a good lubricant by any

Re: G11 bearing lubrication
Hi David,
What is paraffin called here in the USA? Kerosene? Petrol I'm thinking is gasoline which is not a safe solvent by US standards for numerous reasons.
I use mineral spirits in a small jar

I would strongly advise against lithium grease. Use Superlube or a synthetic Moly grease.
Paraffin and or petrol work well to remove old grease as do proprietary engine cleaners such as
