Power consumption on G11G
I'm investigating getting a G-11G, and have a question - I've viewed quite a few of the youtube videos from the Losmandy Channel, as well as several independent reviews, which are all pretty stellar.

Re: Leaving Mount in the sun
Tim, Have used my Gll at cooler temps. (0 to -5 F) with no issues. Below that cables become brittle and rigid. I do get a frost build up on the inside of the roll off roof when it is -10 to -20 F .

Re: Have a screw loose on my GM-8 Gemini 2 mini
Hi Greg! I took one of mine out and it appears to me to be a 4/40 TPI and is 1/4" long. Also it takes a 1/16" Allan wrench. All American dimensions, as you would expect. I think if you email

Re: Leaving Mount in the sun
I used to leave my mount out 24/7/365. But my brand new GM811G HD is just to darn pretty for that. But, for those who would like to, I suggest a $15 portable dome. I always covered my mount (POS that

I live in an older neighborhood with tall mature trees (easily 100+ yr old oaks, etc.) so I can¡¯t really do any observations from home (other than straight up near the zenith). So while I don¡¯t

I have the Orion 15206 Cover, and I leave everything but electronics under it, on my back deck, thru all weather. ?Great cover so far.

Have a screw loose on my GM-8 Gemini 2 mini
As sometimes happens in the best of homes, one of the coverplate screws on my Gemini-2 departed for parts unknown when changing the battery. Does anyone happen to know the correct screw for this

Re: Leaving Mount in the sun
I have left the G11 out for over a year under a Telegizmos 365 cover. I leave the Gemini attached unless there is an expected long spell of inclement weather but even when I have left everything

Hi Arun I leave my mounts out 24/365 I don't think doing this once or twice is a problem. However I recommend you cover them so as to reduce contaminants and also sun bleaching of the anodizing. I was

Leaving Mount in the sun
With the sunny weather we've been having, I've taken to leaving my mount outside (I take my scope and box computer in). That has been really helpful in starting back up quickly the next night, since

Re: Losmandy announcement
That's really great. Losmandy has been very helpful when I've had real issues, but their response to smaller questions left something to be desired. Hopefully, this helps in that regard.

Re: Likely causes of DEC stall?
Hi David, For folks not here in the US the adjustment as I described works fine but requires a way to monitor current draw. A bench supply is good or any of the small inexpensive meters will do inline

That approach works fine if you¡¯re in USA ¨C shipping a G11 from UK to CA and back makes that a very un-economic option (never mind the argument with customs when it gets back to UK) ¨C much as

Re: Likely causes of DEC stall?
Hi Taylor, Are you running the classic 2-piece worm bearing blocks or OPWs? The trick here is to have the Gemini run the mount all the way around the worm wheel watching current draw on a COLD
