Re: DEC stalls on new mount
With the DEC cloth unlocked I can move the OTA around and it holds position (same for RA). The stall is happening immediately. The axis isn¡¯t even beginning to move in either direction. I hear a

Re: DEC stalls on new mount
Is it possible you are not balanced on the DEC axis? It should be roughly balanced with a little bias towards the camera
Thanks

DEC stalls on new mount
Hi,
I just received my GM811 today and I¡¯ve been setting it up and testing indoors to get familiar (it is, of course, raining here in northern Virginia).
I have everything hooked up (RA and DEC

Re: High precison worm vs OPW-11?
Michael,
I do understand the caution about removing the anodizing, but I think the worm wheel is made of 7075 aluminum, which is a very tough alloy. The pluses would outweigh the cons.

Re: High precison worm vs OPW-11?
Don,
Ohers have also reported lapping helped, but Losmandy says it wears off the

Magnus,
The brass worm is really only needed on the RA, but having it on both axes gives you a spare, if ever needed. Getting the adjustment correct for the stock system goes a long way for

High precison worm vs OPW-11?
Hi!
There has been tons of discussions on worm gears, but as I see more about OPW vs Ovision. My G11 apparently has the older stainless steel worms, so an upgrade is imminent. However, at least at

Lucky discovery. To lose 3 units at once... a nightmare.
You might want to also pull out the Gemini1 board from each unit, and
examine the top and bottom for corrosion that could cause shorter

Water Logged GI Controller
I have an MI-250 set up in my side yard with the Gem I system. It's been happy there for the past several years, under my Telegizmos 365 cover, needing a new internal battery about once a year. The

Brian, I noticed your comment about having a 42 second recurring error on your G11GT.
A couple of weeks ago I bought the Losmandy RA-AXIS Titan module as an update to my G11. I have been

Sorry in advance for a question that I'm sure has been asked and answered:
Until now I've more or less ignored all the talk about the G-11 upgrades since mine has been functioning very well. But I
