I have been using my GM8 for about six months now. Have had the clutches apart and cleaned lube off the surfaces, got the enhanced knobs... rebuilt the pointing model a few times. All good. And yes, it

Motor encoders for Gemini-1 motors
I have an RA motor from a G1 which I was asked to fix. It has dead shaft encoder. Does anyone know where I can get them? Thanks Dave Partridge

Re: G11 Gemini 1 problem with Stellarium / Sky Safari
I have no trouble with this system for Stellarium : Download the separate program Stellarium-scope from Dragon-Welch computing. See what version of Stellarium that will support. Download that version

G11 Gemini 1 problem with Stellarium / Sky Safari
Seeking advice of G11 Gemini 1 users with experience, good or bad, with Stellarium or Sky Safari Pro. When I attempt to connect to Stellarium, the software is either unresponsive or freezes and

Re: Meridian Flip
Gosh, Rob! I have had the same experience as you have... load a "known good model" and ... very weird... the mount will slew to point my scope to the floor while I wonder what button to push to stop

Re: Meridian Flip
Michael, thanks for your reply. As you said there may be issues in connecting to a PC, I thought I would describe the way I am currently building a model after doing a cold restart. I launch Gemini.

Re: Meridian Flip
Hi. This, hapoens, can means your T pointing model is messed up. It happens because of the way the Gemini extracts the model parameters in sequence. It seems it cannot do a multidimensional least

Re: RA rate drift (revisited)
Hi Tom. Yes I know these groups have no affiliation with Losmandy, poor word choice of "customer" in my last post implied that. Keith ---In Losmandy_users@..., <tomh@...> wrote : Keith

Re: RA rate drift (revisited)
Thanks for the suggestions Mark. All my fittings on the ST80 to the camera are screw-on as well, but to piggyback I did get the Losmandy-style dovetail instead of Vixen specifically for that reason

Keith None of the user groups are run by Losmandy. Now Ren¨¦ is a co-owner of the Gemini-2 users group and the Gemini users group. Tom H

Meridian Flip
Hi everyone, First of all, I?d like to report that since your help with guiding, the guiding on my G11 has been superb, running close to a half an arc second. Another issue has popped up. For weeks,

Re: RA rate drift (revisited)
Keith I added a third dovetail and adjustable ring that holds the extension tube tightly. I could have put it on the focuser directly, but went with the extension tube to make the third ring as close

Re: RA rate drift (revisited)
Keith, I would suggest, if you haven't already done it, that you mount the guide scope directly onto the G-11 rigidly, not with the C8 involved at all. Simplify the rig as much as possible and then

Re: RA rate drift (revisited)
Good suggestion Tom. To be honest, I'm sometimes not sure which is the appropriate group to post to since as a customer, Losmandy and Gemini are interchangeable.. I'd like to test a few more things,

Re: RA rate drift (revisited)
The 4¡±/minute drift rate is kind of close to the difference between sidereal and solar rates. That could explain being slow, but wouldn¡¯t explain being fast on the other side. -Les

Re: RA rate drift (revisited)
Thanks Greg. All very good points, and I have no intention of killing myself on this one. I guess its a bit of a statistical process control thing, i.e. for other G11/Gemini owners repeating the same
