Re: Questions on polar scope for G11G
In my iPhone app store, it is called Polar Scope Align. The icon on the phone screen says PS Align - sorry for any confusion. I used the app briefly when I had an iOptron CEM60 - which I returned to

Re: Use of hand controller while using PC control?
Yes, ?absolutely. Gemini has multiple input ports, and they can all work together: serial/HC, USB, ethernet, autoguider. Regards, -Paul

Use of hand controller while using PC control?
If I am using Gemini 2 PC control (using my mouse at my PC), is the hand controller still usable at the same time? In particular, will the directional arrows on the hand controller still work to slew

Re: Questions on polar scope for G11G
Maybe I missed it somewhere in this string, but if I get the G11G polar scope, are there detailed instructions (or a video) that show how to install and align/calibrate it? That was important for my

Re: G11G mount with Sharpcap and Stellarium?
John - the baud rate is just for use with the non-ethernet connections. Once you connect with ethernet it is just what the nic card supports (10mb I expect) Good luck, Ken

I agree with David above.? Just use SharpCap.? IMO I would stay away from PoleMaster.? QHY SW is very problematic on newer HW and Windows 11.? I got a Losmandy polar scope with my G11G had have

I use one called Polar Align - if you type that in to the Google Apps tore it comes up with an icon that looks like the Dipper.? Gold stars on a blue background Brian

Thanks very much for your detailed response! I¡¯ll have to give some thought to whether to keep all parts in the same case or separate them. For me the total weight will be the thing that drives my

I actually find the Losmandy polar scope pretty easy to use.? I have set up using that and the phone app to help me orient the reticle.? Typically can get within single digit arc-minutes of accuracy

Hi John, If you are going to image and going have a computer with you it is hard to beat using a PoleMaster, SharpCap etc. to polar align your mount. If

If you separate the RA and DEC but only use one case you run the risk of damaging them. Keep the mount halves assembled and pad out or build a simple plywood frame and staple indoor outdoor carpet to

Re: Questions on polar scope for G11G
The app PS Align for smart phones has the reticle design for the Losmandy polar scope and for most other manufacturers as well. However, I've never used one. With PoleMaster and SharpCap being so easy

Re: Stepper motors and belt drives in RA; was: Re: [Losmandy_users_io] GM811 DEC backlash?
I think it's not an issue of MCU clocking, the ESP32 is clocked at 2.4mHz and the Teensy4.1 at 1gHz. 1kHz is the maximum speed that a step motor can practically be driven due to torque falloff. At

Thanks - I use sharpcap's electronic polar alignment, but like having a back-up polar scope just in case. Too bad the G11G's polar scope doesn't have the graduated circle option.
