Bob H. here well the journey at SVAS to get the G11 up and running continues, most recent problem getting hand controller (hc) to function.? Older cable works used another HC, and all works well. Older HC continues to be non-responsive to touch input, compared new vs the older HC, and it appears there is a looseness between the ??? plastic and the underlying visual screen. Opened the HC and examined the ribbon to the touch sensitive plastic which is intact. It became clear that the interface between the 2 surfaces do not seem to be cohesive, i.e., the upper touch surface is loose when compared with the newer HC. IS THIS FATAL NON-REPAIRABLE DEFECT or is a solution available (older HC was exposed to environment for at least 3 yrs.) MY thought is to use a non-reactive substance like a mineral oil to cause adherence between the 2 surfaces in an attempt to revive the response of the touch sensitive plastic to the underlying surface.? Need input from members as to a solution (will not try my solution prior to any input from members) IF this problem with the old HC is fatal, then question becomes IS there a secondary/used market for HC that can be used to keep overall costs down. I had no issues with my 2 PoleMaster's running on a Lenovo E440 Windows 10 Pro laptop.? I have one for each of my mounts.? I tried playing YouTube video's on my HP and Lenovo Win11 laptops but it didn't help.? I also tried MP4 files.? Yes, I can use NINA '3 Point Polar Alignment' or SharpCap for polar alignment but I would like to get these working because of the investment.? With my PoleMaster's I can do a polar alignment in about a minute.

As Brian pointed out this may be a hardware issue although Win11 and an 11th Generation Intel CPU really doesn't like the QHY driver.

BTW, the easiest workaround I used to use was to open a YouTube video and turn on the auto looping feature then just minimize the window and you never know it's there while using g the PoleMaster application.?

I have not used the actual PoleMaster app under widows 11 yet on the new laptop so I do not know if the issue is still present in Win11.?

This is hilarious! First, this was a known issue with the PoleMaster losing or sleeping the multimedia data stream in Windows after something timed out between the driver and Windows. The creative solution was to keep a video stream open while using the PoleMaster to avoid losing the connection to the PoleMaster. This was a kludge that worked and I do not think it was ever fully resolved as the problem was at least partially a Windows problem.?

Next while MP3 is an almost universal audio file format you can store video in MP3 format with certain software. Don't ask me why you would want to do it but it does exist. But I think there was a misunderstanding by someone here as to the whole thing. Tech support probably wanted the user to try streaming video in the background to overcome the above mentioned loss of connection and freezing of the alignment video data stream.??

Bret, it's a Wolf-Rayet nebula, where the star has thrown off it's outer layers. Also, goes by the name wr-134. I'm focussed on bubbles right now, and this one I think fits the bill. I got 60 x 400s fames last night and will reprocess. Hope to pull out a lot more detail. With the stars in this delicate structure is no so easily seen. I'm blown away by i, hence why I posed his preview image.

Micheal, my image resolution is 0.3 arc-sec/px. Good guiding is key. Seeing conditions are not great right now, so guiding suffers a bit. During the last 3hr imaging run it looks like I averaged around 0.6 arcsec total rms. During this time the object dropped below 30 degrees, so a lot of air mass, sitalation, etc. My PE has also climbed a bit, so I will be servicing my Ra worm drive. A single pure 240s sign wave, which PHD2 using adaptive PEC can easily remove.

I'll go to Digi-Key and look through their catalog.? You want a "reverse" cable (which means it has the conductors in the same order at both ends) rather than a conventional one, which has them the opposite way at one end than the other.

It is 6P6C (6 pins 6 conductors) and has several RJ numbers.

This looks like what you want (flat, 14 feet, conductors in the same order at both ends).? Upon receiving it, look carefully and make sure the order of the conductors is indeed the same at both ends.? I always do, because I don't want to damage my Gemini if they gave me the wrong one :)

ok the HC cable is just an RJ12 6P6C (6 pins 6 cable core) cable assembly straight thru pin 1 to pin 1 on other end, ??? You can see blue goes to blue, yellow to yellow, yada yada.??? Typically called an "RJ12 extension cable"?? Remember the pins must go to the same pins this is the important part.?? Sometimes called RJ12 extension straight cable.?

These are cheap pick up fleabay for just a few dollars.?? .? . ?? The first is an Aussie site the other amazon...look for your locality for the same thing, "RJ12 extensions cable flat".?? Remember ensure the pins go to the correct pin as mentioned, colour doesn't matter its just pin 1 to 1, pin 2 to 2 etc.
