Re: Geminids Dust thru M42
Even more fun is the few days when the Sun is at the same declination, and the most every satellite in the Clark Belt flares.. Many can be seen naked eye.. You'll remember this when you happen upon a

Re: Geminids Dust thru M42
Depends on your latitude (to get a boatload of geosats thru the Orion Nebula) Parallax and "The Clark Belt" is a nasty combination.. But they are easy enough - mostly - to remove in processing.. Sigma

Re: Geminids Dust thru M42

Sonny, Thanks for your heads up on the Ascom 6.5 upgrade ... to expect trouble. No good deed goes unpunished as they say. I like your advice to run the ASCOM Repair option. Stay well and safe, and

Argh! Updates my fanny!
Finally get a clear night after some real gully washer rains (1.3" here at my house), and wouldn't you just know.... My ASCOM is AS-SCREWED as it could be after Windoze did its recent downgrades. So I

You may be able to plug in the time and date to skysafari and see if satalites show up.

Re: Geminids Dust thru M42
Yeah i'd say satellites as well. meteors have a different signature (the have a bulge in the middle) and they are so fast they aren't usually visible across frames I think it's probably starlink,

Re: Geminids Dust thru M42
Well, in about 30 frames, there are almost 100 trails and none on the following night and none a week later. I guess they could be satellites but I'm still leaning the other way.

Hmmmm starlink Worst thing ever....should be banned. but oh noes, there's money to be made.

Re: Geminids Dust thru M42
I would say Satellites, too. Reason being, I've capture the same thing about 5-6 years back. If I remember right, there are 5 that cross The Great Orion Nebula. Unfortunately, it's going to get worse

Re: Geminids Dust thru M42
To me, those look more like satellites then Geminids. Many go through that region of the sky. Bob R. Sent: Tuesday, December 29, 2020 8:12 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [Losmandy_users_io]

Geminids Dust thru M42
I only had a small weather window earlier this month and missed the Geminids Shower. Interestingly though, on the following night, I set up to try to capture one of my favorites - M42. I haven't

Neverfox It¡¯s the way it is with the Losmandy design. I too was surprised when I first got my new mount. There¡¯s a few previous posts on similar subject. Have a read of this string.

My GM811GHD was "sticky" like that as well when brand new. The Wavey Washer fixed it. One of the biggest improvements I made was when I installed the *RAEXT* ( http://store.losmandy.com/raext ) on my

Brian, Thanks. I tried the lower altitude trick and that gave me a less sticky experience on the stickier side (while actually making the less sticky side more sticky). In any case, I was able to get
