Re: [Losmandy_usekrs_io] PEC training
I am going to put a 2X barlow in front of the SX guide camera and use binning on my SX 814. I will then see if that has an improvement. I am sure it will. I have used the 2x Barlow in the past when I

Re: multi-star PHD2!
My guide camera is still functioning only intermittently, but on the one night I was able to try multi-star, my typical guiding around .5" -.7" RMS went down to as low as about

Re: PEC training
Replying to my self.....
I had a look at the other stored PHD2 logs and while I find the same worm, worm x2 and bearing signals, they are not as significant and guiding was more precise.
That leaves

Re: PEC training
Your included image looks perfectly understandable to me. It shows RA errors at three important frequencies.... worm, worm X2 and worm bearing. It also matches the frequency domain plot I get in

Re: multi-star PHD2!
After all this discussion, I downloaded PHD2 Guiding 2.6.9dev2 with the multi-star option tonight to give it a try. After running the installer app, I opened and found my old profiles and settings

Re: multi-star PHD2!
Brian,
With a side by side setup, I am using two scopes with imaging cameras, then a third scope with the ASI290Mini for guiding. I was just hoping to use one main scope for imaging and the other for

Re: PEC training
Hi Paul
i agree DEC looks pretty good. again the amount of backlash will change
through the night, primarily due to changes in your scope orientation
(i.e., altitude)
RA seems to me to show issues

You know I wish I had an image stack I processed when the guide cam was off from the main scope to illustrate how the frames skewed over the course of the night. But it? is lost somewhere in

Aubrey if you are going to stick with your current setup, i suggest binning

Re: [Losmandy_usekrs_io] PEC training
Very good data. I can add a Barlow of 2x on the guide camera and that should drop it to 2.00 /arcseconds.
I am not sure I have been keeping the guide log. I see and send the data to you if not I

Thanks Ray,
That's great info. Actually now that I think about it, I'm not sure if DEC was doing anything different. I was only concerned with RA as I know that is where PEC works.

Re: PEC training
Jamie,
PEC only affects RA, so that you saw large jumps in Dec also indicates that the auto-settings were not optimal.
That said, after programming PEC, you should always measure PE again with PEC
