Re: Losmandy OPW Assembly
Hi, I have just received a OPWB. What is this hole in lower right corner for?

Re: Losmandy GM8 OnStep upgrade
So I installed new stepper motors yesterday and cleaned things up a little. There were NEMA23 stepper motors, but due to their extremely high inductance they worked liek disaster. I printed NEMA17

Re: Losmandy GM8 OnStep upgrade
Cze??, RGB Elektronika supplies EZO 6.35 x 15.87 x 4.97 mm bearings in Poland - superior to what was in my Losmandy and still not too expensive. EZO Bearings was the most reasonable thing I found in

Re: Losmandy GM8 OnStep upgrade
You need Belville washers for R4 size bearings (1/4” / 5/8”) which have an ID of 10.3mm (0.406”) and an OD of 15.69mm (0.618”) it that helps. David Sent: 23 September 2020 10:38 To:

Re: Losmandy GM8 OnStep upgrade
Hi Dominik (Cze??) Let me know if you find Belleville washers that fit Losmandy worm blocks. What kind of EZO bearings did you use? Sebastian

Re: GM811G DEC rub
Thanks anyway! Yep I had it shortly after getting it. Seems to me that the ring on mine is just a bit too big. Like I said though it's really just a minor issue, cosmetic really, but if it's not

Re: GM811G DEC rub
I see. Different design from mine. Sorry I can't help with that one. BTW is that a vixen type dovetail with one flat side you have? I can see bite marks on the side.
Re: GM811G DEC rub
I think that yours is a G11. Mine is a GM811 so the issue is on the DEC which is a G8 axis. Looks a bit different than yours.

Re: GM811G DEC rub
Yep. Attached an image where it would be rubbing if I didn't remove the ring:) Just about ready to start imaging the pinwheel galaxy. I circled the spot where it would be rubbing. Jamie

Re: GM811G DEC rub
Is this what you see? Gap between worm block and ring.

Re: GM811G DEC rub
If it's rubbing against the worm block housing that's odd. There's a good ~5mm clearance on my mount. Got a pic of the ring and housing where it rubs? Sure it's not the spur gear cover that's slightly

Re: GM811G DEC rub
For mine it rubs between the ring, and the outer worm block housing. I notice it when I loosen the clutch and just try and spin it freely. It will make a metal on metal noise on one spot. When I

Re: GM811G DEC rub
On mine if I did the clutches too tight the rings would jam between the worm plate and the shaft flange so I got them machined down a couple of thous.

Re: GM811G DEC rub
Wow, you guys are on it! Here's a picture of the ring. I'm going to try and image "north america" or/and the pinwheel right now:) https://photos.app.goo.gl/cLcKuvbY95BqtQF6A

Re: GM811G DEC rub
When you tighten your clutch does the graded ring still turns lose?

Re: GM811G DEC rub
Jamie - Is it a Spring Loaded Worm assembly? What is the "graded ring"?? Can you post a picture?? I think I know what the problem is.

GM811G DEC rub
So this is something that was an issue from just after I got the mount about a year ago. Everything seemed fine the first few nights out, but then the DEC mechanics seemed to be rubbing. After talking

Re: G11 RA Extension
Hi Brian, thanks for the green light. If it helps my mounts is?S/N HGM200069096. Thanks again mate.
Re: G11 RA Extension
Hi Marc If I understand your question, you are asking if adding the RAEXT changes the spec of the mount in some way? the answer to that question is no. We have not received any inquiries or emails

Re: G11 RA Extension
I'd like to hear from Brian or anyone at Losmandy to address my concerns. If it's a non issue then I'm happy to go ahead with the load as it is knowing that I'm still within the mount specs. I hear
