Re: DEC stalls on new mount
You might attempt to switch hand unit to Move or Center speed and see if you can move the Dec at all. it will go really slowly so you¡¯ll have to watch closely Thanks Brian Brian Valente

Re: DEC stalls on new mount
Currently it¡¯s just a C8 with top and bottom dovetail rails. Since it was indoors and just being set up to get familiar, there wasn¡¯t even a diagonal or eyepiece or camera. So, probably 17 pounds

Linda Here are a few things: What kind of setup do you have, and is it heavy? You will probably get a lot of advice and some of it conflicting. I personally recommend not fiddling with the hardware

Sorry, that should have said: With the DEC clutch loose, not sure how autocorrect turned clutch into cloth. I¡¯ve tried reseating the cables. All seems correct. Someone on Cloudy Nights suggested

Re: DEC stalls on new mount
not sure what that first sentence means? your clutches should be hand tightened so it can still be moved by hand but is stiff. double-check all your motor cable connections too B [Losmandy_users]

Re: DEC stalls on new mount
With the DEC cloth unlocked I can move the OTA around and it holds position (same for RA). The stall is happening immediately. The axis isn¡¯t even beginning to move in either direction. I hear a

Re: High precison worm vs OPW-11?
Michael, I do understand the caution about removing the anodizing, but I think the worm wheel is made of 7075 aluminum, which is a very tough alloy. The pluses would outweigh the cons. Don

Don, Ohers have also reported lapping helped, but Losmandy says it wears off the anodization on the ring gear, so they caution against doing that. David Partridge also got great results ...very low

Magnus, The brass worm is really only needed on the RA, but having it on both axes gives you a spare, if ever needed. Getting the adjustment correct for the stock system goes a long way for

High precison worm vs OPW-11?
Hi! There has been tons of discussions on worm gears, but as I see more about OPW vs Ovision. My G11 apparently has the older stainless steel worms, so an upgrade is imminent. However, at least at

Lucky discovery. To lose 3 units at once... a nightmare. You might want to also pull out the Gemini1 board from each unit, and examine the top and bottom for corrosion that could cause shorter battery
