Re: Gemini 2 connect to TheSky 6
Hi Tim, I believe you'll need the ASCOM plugin for TheSky 6 to connect using ASCOM driver.? TheSky X might be different. Take a look
Gemini 2 connect to TheSky 6
Folks I¡¯ve installed the ASCOM driver on my laptop. ?I selected Gemini in TheSky drop down. ? I¡¯m using a USB connection. ?Is there anything else I need to do before connecting? ?I don¡¯t

Re: G11 Dec Axis, How Tight to Do Up Clutch Knob
Nice photos, Keith. Your use of a metal "square" showed the shaft was not at 90 degrees as required. That's a good, easy test to do, say whenever you change clutch disks. Therefore, if off-90¡ã,

Yes, this is after baseline guiding.? Thanks for taking a look at it. Steve

Re: Balancing RA
I'm a 44N with an older G11 so wavy washer is not an option.? My method now is to loosen the RA clutch knob quite a bit, and push on the shaft with the base of my hand enough to overcome the friction

Re: G11 Dec Axis, How Tight to Do Up Clutch Knob
As Michael said: From a post of a few years ago, here is my (older) G11 where the shaft is clearly not perpendicular. /g/Losmandy_users/photo/54848/5?p=Created,,,20,2,0,0 Kudos to

Re: "With the single worm block it is very hard to misalign the worm bearings anymore but try to keep the couplers inline as much as possible." I agree it's hard to grossly misalign with this design,
Re: G11G First Night - Not So Good
Regarding the mounting screws you can file the side of the motors to make a flat face and have some clearance for the hex bolt heads. There's a couple of things you can look at for your PE, frequency

Re: G11G First Night - Not So Good
Hi Rick data. just a straight PEMPro run of about 14 cycles, no corrections or anything no, we spot test, but they are largely very consistent. great! best with a new G11G. Also how to implement

Re: G11G First Night - Not So Good
The results I sent were from the factory tuning. I just went in to double check this morning after last night results. It is possible I could have messed things up with the PEC that I did about

Re: G11G First Night - Not So Good
Rick FYI this is a graph of typical G11 pulled from the shelf and tested, you can see the 2x fundamental is hardly there (the 1x PE is a bit high, so it went back on the bench for

Re: G11G First Night - Not So Good
Rick i've had a chance to go through this a bit and i have a few thoughts: - when you calibrate, make sure you bump the mount north first. You may be doing that now, but just want to confirm - you

Re: G11 Dec Axis, How Tight to Do Up Clutch Knob
Hi Michael, That's sounds good to me, My old AVX mount needed to be as tight as it could, to work properly. I've just gathered from earlier threads that you only need as to tighten the RA and DEC on a

Re: G11 Dec Axis, How Tight to Do Up Clutch Knob
Hi Deric, I believe that Brian is going to pursue the issue, and respond. Like I said, I can't really see any normal way this effect could occur...certainly not in a G11. It was reported as a rare

Re: G11 Dec Axis, How Tight to Do Up Clutch Knob
My experience is that overtightening causes it all to jam up. Not great. There is also a different feel of the worm spur gears when turned back and forth when trying to sort out backlash etc.

Re: Balancing RA
Thanks Richard, for clarifying that. I thought that 1.4 kg was too small to pull that RA up off the clutch disk. I'm quite happy with the way my mount systems are working. The moonlight and high

Re: G11 Dec Axis, How Tight to Do Up Clutch Knob
Michael, interesting, I've been told that all you need to do is tighten the DEC and RA clutches just enough so they will not move. That over tightening can put stress on the worm and motors. So you

Re: G11 Dec Axis, How Tight to Do Up Clutch Knob
The lowest clutch pressure without slippage is the best setting but this only works well if the mount is reasonably well balanced. There is noting in the mechanical design that would cause more or
