I did balance the system by moving the ALT to 0.? The RA axis did move more freely and a good balance was achieved.
I took the system out over two nights last week and it performed very well imaging the Fireworks galaxy with decent seeing and some wind on my 9.25" SCT fitted with a 0.7x focal reducer (FL = 1645mm) and an off-axis guider.? I used PHD2 with the Periodic Error correction algorithm on RA fixing the period to 239.34 sec.? Total RMS values ranged between 0.46 and 0.65.? The higher values came on the second night where there was more wind and haze.? I used my truck as a windscreen.? Control with Sequence Generator Pro worked without a hitch and the Gemini 2 Ethernet connection was flawless.
Next, I will point to a target toward the south.
