Re: Digital Mode data cable

Re: 60 meters
Yes, that's what I had to do.? v1.05.00 did not enable the USA 60 meter band.? I went back and installed v1.04.07 and that allowed 60 meter ops. This is what I was instructed to to in an email from

Re: Firmware Update Process... Not So Fast, but finally SUCCESS
Thanks for the post. I had to fiddle for a while too to get it working. In my case the cables were just fine, the issue was a older version of the Prolific driver which only worked after several

Re: 60 meters
Well...that is interesting. I always thought that new firmware updates incorporated all of the previous changes that were still good. My TX-500 only had the v1.04.05 update prior to my updating to

Yes, firmware version 1.04.07 does allow the radio to operate in the USA 60 meter band.? Be aware however, firmware version 1.05.00 DOES NOT.? V1.05.00 only allows the radio to operate between

New Voice Message Memory - Works
Subsequent to yesterday's firmware update, I found a little time today to hook up the TX-500 on the kitchen table with a dummy load. I can confirm that the new VXM feature works. I was able to record

Re: Frequency stability.
One more note on that. I made a zero beat test with a RX I know it's stable on 10 m. I can't confirm the more then 70 Hz drift in 10 sec. If that would be really the case it would run out of "zero

Re: Frequency stability.
Thanks very much, Axel!? That's very disappointing for a Euro-900 transceiver.? A Chinese TCXO with proven zero drift in my TS-480 (which also had the same +/-4 drift), with no warm-up time at all,

Re: Firmware Update Process... Not So Fast, but finally SUCCESS
Eric, Thanks for the follow-up. Yes, that may have been my problem. However, from the looks of the GX12 connector wires, I suspected a short. Plus, I had already found a shorted wire in the MIC/SP/PTT

Re: Firmware Update Process... Not So Fast, but finally SUCCESS
Next time, try restarting the software after the usb cable is plugged in. It¡¯s likely that the software only scanned for serial ports once and didn¡¯t auto update the list when you plugged it in.
