Greetings,
My Tx-500 arrived on Friday! I made a few contacts with it during the Arkansas QSO on Saturday while doing some portable work at a local park. I can tell this is going to be a great radio.
I do a good bit of Winlink so would like to get up on digital modes. Lab599¡¯s documentation shows a 10uF cap on the data cable. The audio interfaces I have from ZLP Electronics and XGGcomms already have isolated audio circuits. Is this 10uF cap protecting the audio chipset in the TX-500 from stray RF? This is a new one to me so the nerd in me is at least curious why this is different from other radios. I did notice their reference cable has leads to connect to a computer sound card which I assume lacks the isolation built in to purpose made radio interface gear.
