Come One, Come All and Get Your Agate On!
The Culver City Club has arranged a field trip for Saturday, December 14 at 9am and extends a welcome to other rockhounds to join in.
We'll be meeting at Justin Zzyzx’s place - 39184 Tami Road, Newberry Springs, to begin a day of collecting and Rockhound fun. From highway 15, exit at Harvard Road, (20 miles from Barstow, 1.5 hours from the Cajon Pass) go left, turn left onto Barrett Rd and left onto Tami Rd. A new Circle K has been built, very nice! (Don’t be later than 9 am or we might have departed.)
There will be four locations to visit, all featuring different styles of agates, jaspers, and opalite. Easy collecting for all ages. 100% accessible for all car types.
Tools Needed - Sturdy bags/buckets, hard rock tools (Hammer/pick), water spray bottle, safety glasses, and gloves. It may be wise to carry a first-aid kit. I also recommend a dust mask.
Bring extra money for BLOWOUT prices on slabs, minerals, and tumbled stones Justin is selling, and you can also buy copies of “Rockhound Barstow” directly from the author (Justin!)
