The caveat would be that no free agent picked up could be kept past the end of the season. They are automatically returned to the draft pool as soon as the season is over. Not eligible to be traded or kept.?

Maybe even attach a draft pick to the transaction or a 2nd one. I would favor one "free" pickup and a 5th round draft pick if another one needs to be taken.??

This would give players a chance to rectify a mistake from the draft or a situation where they had more extra innings than expected, etc., without having a player stocking next season's team through free agent pickups.?
